Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SW09
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what’s funny? I’ve stayed in plenty of fancy hotels with marble lobbies and twenty different pillow options, but there’s something about Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SW09 that just hits differently. The moment you step through that traditional wooden gate, you’re basically transported into what feels like a Korean period drama – except, well, with WiFi and modern plumbing, thank god.
The hanok itself is honestly stunning in that understated Korean way. Those curved rooflines and the courtyard layout make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s ancestral home (in the best possible way), but then you walk into your room and there’s this gorgeous private bathtub that’s clearly been designed for serious soaking sessions. I mean, after spending a day wandering around Korean markets or hiking temple trails, sliding into that tub with some local bath salts is basically heaven. The ondol heating system keeps everything perfectly warm too – traditional Korean floor heating is no joke, and your feet will thank you, especially if you’re visiting during the colder months.
What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to keep all the authentic architectural details while sneaking in modern comforts where it actually matters. The paper doors still slide with that satisfying whisper sound, the wooden beams have that gorgeous natural patina, but the bathroom is spotless and the bedding is hotel-quality comfortable. The rating of 9.5 honestly makes sense when you experience it – it’s one of those places where every little detail has been thought through by someone who clearly cares about the guest experience. The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs complete silence to sleep, traditional hanoks can be a bit… well, the walls aren’t exactly soundproof, so you might hear your neighbors moving around. But honestly, there’s something kind of cozy about that too – it feels more like staying with family than in some sterile hotel chain. Plus, the three-star rating might seem modest, but in the hanok world, it’s really about the experience and authenticity rather than how many restaurants are in the lobby.

It’s beautifully done. Great attention to detail and includes all the modern amenities one can need. I loved the hot and cold water tap in the kitchen. Great for a quick tea. The outdoor bath is such a luxurious experience. I loved the whole experience.
