About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

You know what struck me first about Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SN01? It’s actually quiet – and I mean properly quiet, not that “peaceful oasis” nonsense you usually read about places that are really just okay. This is a traditional Korean hanok that’s been restored with serious attention to detail, and honestly, stepping inside feels like you’ve found something most tourists completely miss.

The private bathtub situation is legit, by the way. I’m talking about a proper soaking tub that’s deep enough to actually disappear into after spending hours wandering around. The bathroom setup surprised me – they’ve managed to blend modern plumbing with traditional aesthetics without making it feel forced or gimmicky. The wooden elements have this warm, lived-in quality that you can’t fake, and there’s something about the way afternoon light filters through the traditional windows that makes even checking your phone feel almost meditative. The floors are heated (ondol system), which is clutch during cooler months – your feet stay warm even when you’re padding around in just socks.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve kept the authentic hanok experience without sacrificing comfort. The sleeping arrangements are traditional floor bedding, but it’s actually comfortable – not that back-breaking tourist trap version some places try to pass off. The courtyard space gives you that classic hanok privacy and connection to outdoors that makes these buildings so special. I mean, you’re essentially staying in Korean architectural history, but with a bathroom you’d actually want to use and wifi that works. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places where small touches add up to something genuinely special. Check-in was smooth, and they clearly understand that international guests might need a bit more explanation about hanok living without being condescending about it. Fair warning though – if you’re someone who needs a standard hotel room with a regular bed and expects to find a mini-fridge and coffee maker, this probably isn’t your vibe. But if you want to experience traditional Korean architecture done right, with modern comforts where they actually matter, this place delivers on that promise.

Lovely hanok style house with hanok feeling but all the modern conveniences. Walking distance to sites in the Bukchon and Palace area, including markets.

Comfortable beds, space to sit both indoors and out.The kitchen was well equipped for small meals and a good-sized dining table.

We would absolutely stay here again.
