I’ll be honest – when I first stumbled across Lovely House Hongdae, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in one of Seoul‘s busiest party districts. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you, and this little spot actually delivered way more than I anticipated.

The thing about staying in Hongdae is that you’re literally in the heart of Seoul’s college scene – we’re talking about the area around Hongik University where the streets pulse with energy until dawn. Most hotels here either try too hard to be trendy or they’re complete dumps that rely on location alone. Lovely House sits somewhere refreshingly in between. The building itself is nothing fancy (honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not looking), but once you’re inside, there’s this cozy, almost residential vibe that I really appreciated after long days of exploring. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully laid out – not huge by any means, but they’ve maximized every inch without making it feel cramped. I mean, this is Seoul, so you’re not getting sprawling suites anywhere unless you’re dropping serious cash.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually get what travelers need. They had this whole setup with local restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the touristy spots everyone hits – I’m talking about the tiny Korean BBQ joint three blocks over where university students go when they’re broke but craving good meat. The front desk guy (wish I remembered his name) marked up this hand-drawn map for me with shortcuts through the maze of streets that make up this neighborhood. That kind of local knowledge is gold, especially when you’re trying to navigate back after a night out in the clubs and everything looks different at 2 AM. Speaking of which – yes, it gets loud on weekends. The walls aren’t paper-thin, but you’ll definitely hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper. Pack earplugs or request a room facing away from the main drag if that’s going to bother you.

The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you factor in the value proposition here. You’re paying reasonable money to stay right where all the action is – Hongdae Playground is basically around the corner, the indie music venues are within stumbling distance, and you can walk to some of Seoul’s best late-night food spots. I loved being able to roll out of bed and grab coffee from one of those tiny hole-in-the-wall places that only fit about four people but serve espresso that’ll change your life. The subway connections are solid too, so day trips to other parts of Seoul are totally doable. Look, if you want marble bathrooms and concierge service, this isn’t your place. But if you want a clean, comfortable base in one of Seoul’s most vibrant neighborhoods where the staff actually cares and you’re not paying through the nose for location – well, Lovely House Hongdae might just become your new favorite Seoul secret.

  🔺舒適程度：整體來說算蠻舒適的，公共空間還有沙發跟餐桌，現場也不會有怪味！

  🔺交通：弘大3號出口很多東西可以吃，走一下就到住宿點了，沿途還有ＣＵ跟7-11，算是很方便
  
  住的附近不會有太複雜的人事物，都是早上會開的店家，相對安全
  對了不要錯過走路一分鐘就到的小夏鹽田，有夠好吃！
