K-Guesthouse Dongdaemun Premium 2
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about K-Guesthouse Dongdaemun Premium 2? It’s actually way more comfortable than the name suggests – I mean, “guesthouse” had me expecting shared bathrooms and paper-thin walls, but this place is more like a boutique hotel that just happens to call itself a guesthouse. I stayed here last spring during cherry blossom season when everything in Seoul was booked solid, and honestly, I lucked out.
The location is where this place really shines. You’re right in the thick of Dongdaemun, which means you can literally roll out of bed at 2 AM and hit up the night markets – and trust me, that’s when the real action happens. The famous Dongdaemun Design Plaza is maybe a five-minute walk, though I’ll warn you, it’s easy to get turned around in those underground shopping centers (I spent an embarrassing amount of time looking for the exit my first night). What I loved most was being so close to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park station – you’ve got three subway lines converging there, so getting anywhere in the city is ridiculously easy. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned I was planning to explore neighborhoods like Hongdae and Itaewon in the same day, but honestly, from this spot, it’s totally doable.
The rooms themselves are clean and surprisingly quiet considering you’re surrounded by 24/7 shopping chaos. I had a corner room on the fourth floor, and while it wasn’t huge, everything felt thoughtfully designed – good lighting for actually reading, enough outlets for all my devices, and a bathroom that didn’t require contortionist skills to use the shower. The bed was firmer than what you’d find in most American hotels, but that’s pretty standard in Korea, and I actually slept better because of it. One small thing that made a difference – they had these thick curtains that actually blocked out the neon signs from the street, which is crucial when you’re dealing with Seoul’s never-ending light pollution. The only minor complaint I’d have is that the air conditioning unit was a bit loud, but honestly, after walking around Dongdaemun Market for hours, I was tired enough that it didn’t matter.
Check-in was smooth even though my Korean is basically non-existent – the front desk staff switched to English without missing a beat, and they had this little printed guide with subway directions to all the major tourist spots. They also store luggage if you arrive early, which saved my life since I landed at Incheon at 6 AM and wanted to start exploring immediately. For the price point and location, it’s honestly a solid choice, especially if you’re the type of traveler who spends most of your time out and about rather than lounging in your room.

Guest Reviews
staff was nice, the room was clean, location is the best!
Location is super cool.
Accessibility is good.
I like, the price is adequate for the location and the service.
The location is convenience, nearby subway and convenience store. The place is mostly quiet, not too messy by peoples.
Price, location (near mrt)
The location is really great. However, the property itself is bad. However, the price was so low, so I cannot complain about it. I have all the utilities I need (including hot water). I wouldn’t suggest to stay here, if you are paying over USD30-35 per night.
However, the duvet is surprisingly comfortable, and the air conditioning works well.
The room was pretty spacious
It was located at a good place.
Good location
