Jongno Hotel Lumia
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Jongno Hotel Lumia, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? This hotel completely changed my perspective on what a mid-range stay in Seoul could actually be like. The lobby has this warm, contemporary vibe that immediately feels more upscale than the star rating suggests, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests walk through the door.
What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was designed. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is Seoul, space is premium – but they’ve maximized every inch brilliantly. The lighting is actually pleasant (not those harsh fluorescents you get in some hotels), and the beds are surprisingly comfortable with quality linens that don’t feel scratchy or cheap. The bathrooms are compact but modern, with rainfall showerheads that have proper water pressure – honestly, that alone made my day after walking around the city for hours. I stayed on the seventh floor and it was remarkably quiet at night, which is saying something considering how vibrant this neighborhood gets.
The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re right in the heart of Jongno-gu, which means you can walk to Insadong’s tea houses and galleries in about ten minutes, or catch the subway to literally anywhere in the city within a few stops. There’s this fantastic 24-hour convenience store right around the corner (trust me, you’ll use it), and some of the best late-night Korean BBQ spots are practically on your doorstep. The area feels authentically local – you’ll see office workers grabbing lunch, students hanging out, and families doing their shopping, not just tourists with cameras. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. The concierge gave me some insider tips about which subway exits to use and where to find the best banchan nearby – little touches like that really made a difference. With an 8.5 rating, this place clearly knows what it’s doing, and after spending four nights there, I can see why guests keep coming back.

I had a pleasant stay at Jongno Hotel Lumia for 6 nights. The room was surprisingly spacious for an Asian hotel and the massage chair was a fantastic bonus. The hotel was clean, quiet, and the staff were helpful. Its location is convenient, offering easy access to the city center via metro.
Overall, I'd recommend Jongno Hotel Lumia for travelers seeking a comfortable base to explore Seoul.
We loved the size of the room, the shower was great and everything was clean. The view from our room was nice and it was easily accessible and close to multiple different convinient stations that allow you to go all over Seoul.
Rooms with nice view and big window if you ask for an upper room
Clean room and with everything,it’s fist time in a hotel I have a dryer for the hair and a hair iron.
Free water and continental breakfast free.
Area with massage sofa very comfortable
Subway only 3-5 mi walking ,line 1
The Hotel was clean. The location was perfect, 5 mins away from Sinseoldong Underground. Although it is located in an alley, me being a solo female traveller, I was a bit anxious before getting there, but all my worries disappeared as it is a safe area, so if you are a solo female traveller like me, do not worry at all! The room has everything you need, the bed was comfy. There is a nice room next to the reception where you can sit and eat your food in the evening if you feel like it, with a coffee and tea machine and an ice machine too. There are also 2 massage chairs. Overall, I was really happy with my stay!
location was good, next to the subway station, easy to find and comfy bed
Staff are nice. Rooms are clean. Facilities are well provided. Near subway.
