The Room Experience

My room was on the 17th floor, and the view — well, it’s not going to win any awards, but there’s something oddly charming about looking out over the organized chaos of Hongdae’s rooftops and neon signs. The space itself is compact but thoughtfully designed, with everything you actually need and nothing you don’t. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I slept better than I expected given that we’re talking about one of the liveliest neighborhoods in the city. The bathroom is small but modern, with a decent shower that actually had good water pressure.

What I really loved about staying here is how it puts you right in the middle of authentic Seoul nightlife without feeling touristy. You’ll hear the energy from the street — live music drifting up from basement venues, the chatter of university students, the occasional street performer — but the hotel’s soundproofing is actually pretty decent. I mean, you’re not going to get library-quiet, but it’s totally manageable. The area comes alive after dark, and there’s something magical about being able to experience that energy and then retreat to your quiet space upstairs.

  It was convenient because it was right in front of the Hongdae entrance area and there was a pharmacy, convenience store, and chicken restaurant under the building. The premises were extremely clean and made us feel like we were right at home!
