You’re literally a two-minute walk from Myeongdong Station, which sounds standard until you realize how many “conveniently located” hotels still require a sweaty 10-minute trek with your luggage. The street food vendors start setting up right outside around 5 PM, so you’ll catch the incredible smell of hotteok and tteokbokki wafting up if you’re on the lower floors. Some people might find it distracting, but honestly? It made me hungry in the best way every single evening. The rooms themselves are what I’d call “efficiently designed” – not huge by Western standards, but thoughtfully laid out. I actually appreciated that the bathroom had a proper separation between the shower and toilet area, which isn’t always a given in Seoul hotels. The botanical theme carries through subtly with some nice plant-inspired artwork and earth tones that don’t feel gimmicky. Air conditioning worked perfectly during my July stay, which was crucial since summer in Seoul can be absolutely brutal.

They had detailed English maps with actual walking times (not just distances), and when I asked about late-night food options, the front desk guy gave me specific restaurant names and warned me which ones close early on Sundays. That kind of local knowledge makes such a difference. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury destination, but it absolutely nails the fundamentals. Housekeeping was consistent, WiFi was solid throughout the building, and the elevators were surprisingly quick for a mid-sized hotel. I did notice some minor wear in the hallway carpeting, but nothing that affected the actual experience. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city (which, let’s face it, you should), this place gives you a comfortable base without breaking the bank or making you feel like you’re roughing it.
