But somehow, once you’re inside, the soundproofing actually works (which, honestly, isn’t always a given in this neighborhood). The rooms have this sleek, minimalist thing going on – not trying too hard to be trendy, just clean and comfortable with these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a bird’s eye view of the organized chaos below.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the staff seems to actually get that most guests are here for the shopping experience. They’ve got storage solutions figured out (trust me, you’ll need them after a day in the markets), and the concierge knows which subway exits will get you closest to specific wholesale buildings without having to navigate the underground maze blind. The location is pretty strategic too – you’re close enough to walk to Dongdaemun Design Plaza when your feet can handle it, but far enough from the main Dongdaemun Station entrance to avoid some of the tourist crowds. Plus, there’s this little convenience store tucked around the corner that’s open 24/7, which becomes essential when you realize you forgot something and don’t want to venture back into the shopping madness. With an 8.3 rating, it’s clear other travelers have figured out what I did – sometimes the best hotel isn’t the one with the fanciest amenities, it’s the one that just works seamlessly with why you’re actually in that part of the city. If you’re planning to dive deep into Seoul’s fashion and textile scene, this place gets it.

  This is a no frill hotel in Dongdaemun, directly link to Hyundai Outlet mall. Lots of food options and shopping nearby. Convenient to travel to and from airport with airport bus. Pillows are too soft for my liking. Room is is big for both the twin and triple rooms. Can open up 2 mid size luggage in the twin room, and 3 mid size luggage in the triple room.

  The location is great, close to the centre, to many tourist attractions (Seoul is huge, but you can walk to some of the must-see places anyway from there). We liked the DDP centre and to walk up along the city wall.
  The room is exactly like on the pictures.
  Quite many options for breakfast.
  Everything's auotmated, so you don't need to talk to anyone, but the staff is available, when needed.
