Hotel Park Hill Myeongdong Overview

Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to Hotel Park Hill Myeongdong, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in one of Seoul‘s busiest districts. But you know what? Sometimes these smaller hotels surprise you in ways the big chains just can’t.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you’re planning to do serious shopping or just want to be in the thick of things. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from all the main Myeongdong action – those narrow streets packed with cosmetics shops, street food vendors grilling hotteoks, and honestly, more skincare stores than you’ll know what to do with. I mean, Seoul shopping can be overwhelming, but being able to duck back to your room when your feet start screaming is a game-changer. The hotel sits on one of the quieter side streets too, so you’re not dealing with constant noise from the main drag – though let’s be real, you’ll still hear the city humming, especially on weekend nights when the area stays lively until pretty late.

What I really liked about this place was how the staff actually seemed to care about making your stay work. The front desk folks were genuinely helpful with directions (crucial in Myeongdong’s maze of similar-looking streets), and they had this practical approach to service that felt refreshing after dealing with some of the more formal hotel experiences elsewhere in the city. The rooms are clean and functional – not Instagram-worthy by any means, but everything works and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. The bathrooms are compact, which is pretty standard for Seoul hotels in this price range, but they’ve got good water pressure and those heated toilet seats that you don’t realize you need until you have them. Air conditioning works well too, which matters more than you’d think during Seoul’s sticky summers. Honestly, for the price point and that 7.4 rating, you’re getting solid value – it’s the kind of place where you sleep well, grab the simple breakfast if you want it, and spend your energy exploring rather than hanging around the hotel. Perfect if you’re planning to be out wandering the palaces, hitting up the night markets, or just getting lost in the incredible food scene that Myeongdong has tucked into every corner.

Hotels in Seoul offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this metropolitan hub, with easy access to world-class shopping, traditional markets, and vibrant nightlife districts.

Reviews of Hotel Park Hill Myeongdong

  • Julia from United Kingdom (8/10)

Brilliant location (barely 5 mins walk from Hoehyeon station, which is one stop away from Seoul station). Appreciated that underfloor heating was on almost all day (necessary in cold Seoul winter weather), the room was small and cosy (but fit a double bed) so it warmed really quickly. Perfect for a solo traveller.
Amenities were free and easily accessible (towels, toothpaste, etc) and the receptionist was very helpful over WhatsApp. Shops towards Hoehyeon station (including quiet convenience stores, coffee shops) etc are easy cheap places to have a nice meal. Neighbourhood also felt very safe, like the rest of Seoul tbh. I got back late some nights (3am one night) but safely walked through the streets.
Nice to not be in a party hostel, but instead a quiet comfortable hotel for people who want their own space.

  • Edith from United Kingdom (8/10)

Fantastic location near subway, buses, lots of restaurants and Myeongdong shopping within a short walk. For the price the room is good, comfortable with everything you need, but not luxurious. Helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend.

  • Maida from South Korea (8/10)

The hotel was at a good location, and the staff were very kind and cooperative. The heating in the room was very comfortable and the bathroom had running hot water at all times.

  • Nur from Malaysia (8/10)

The location was the best. Only a walking distance to Myeongdong street market, Namdaemun Market and Namsan Tower. the staff were very friendly and can talk English fluently.

  • Jie from Singapore (7/10)

Location was ideal, very close to Myeongdong and Namdaemun market. The rooms were small but clean, cosy and warm.

  • Githania from Australia (7/10)

Close to Hohyeon St, free water refill, amenities such as toothbrush/paste, tea. My room was big enough to lay 2 big luggages. I have no problem with staff since they're always there whenever I gt back haha. Free washing machine use but no dryer so you have to go to the 24 hours laundromat 5 mins from hotel which is around 5000 won for 30 mins.
