Hotel Mfelice Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – Hotel Mfelice isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury, but there’s something genuinely charming about this little 3-star spot that keeps drawing me back. The first time I stumbled upon it, I was actually looking for somewhere else entirely (you know how that goes), and I’m pretty glad I got lost because this place has that authentic, unpolished vibe that’s getting harder to find these days.
The lobby has this slightly worn-in feeling that I mean in the best way possible – like your favorite pair of jeans. The staff genuinely seems to care, which honestly surprised me given how many places just go through the motions. During my last stay, the front desk guy remembered I preferred a quieter room away from the elevator, and that kind of personal touch really makes a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag or just need a decent night’s sleep. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the shower has proper water pressure, which is more than I can say for some places that charge twice as much.
What really won me over, though, is how the hotel sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but not stuck in the middle of tourist chaos. I’ve stayed here during both busy season and quieter months, and there’s always this steady hum of local life happening around you – morning coffee vendors setting up, people heading to work, that kind of authentic rhythm you can’t manufacture. The neighborhood has a few genuine local spots within walking distance, not just the usual chain restaurants and souvenir shops. There’s this bakery about two blocks away that opens ridiculously early and makes these pastries that are honestly worth waking up for. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak times – I learned that the hard way – but the hotel staff will point you toward a couple of reliable spots nearby. The 7.6 rating feels about right to me; it’s solid without being spectacular, dependable without being boring. If you’re the type of traveler who values character over marble bathrooms and wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some sterile business hotel, Mfelice hits that mark perfectly.
Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

I chose the hotel for its proximity to KBS Arena as I wanted to be near to the concert venue and it definitely fits my own purpose. Very short commute to the venue (it's 2 bus stops away, and the bus stops are just a couple of mins walk away or just about 6,000 won taxi ride per way). The area is lively so it feels safe even late at night. Plenty of eateries, cafes, convenience shops and malls around so there's always something to do. I like that there's a CU downstairs like directly connected to the hotel, so it's very convenient. The room that we stayed in was comfortable enough for the two of us, everything was just perfect. i was actually expecting the bed to be uncomfortable based on some reviews i read but it is definitely unfounded. and eventhough the hotel is far from central, we still found it easy to go around (we mostly travel by bus, and it takes like 30-40 minutes to hongdae area, which is good enough)

Good location. Easy to get to Gimpo Airport by public transport. Only 10-15 minutes by bus. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area.

1. The welcome gift of a wine bottle per day (we had booked a suite) was unexpectedly a pleasant surprise
2. The location was within a good walking distance to the Balsan subway station, which was quite convenient. There are also quite a lot of eateries and cute cafes nearby and even a small gaming arcade and photo booth
3. They had a healthy breakfast menu which was a mix of Korean traditional and continental options.
4. When we left, the staff at the reception kindly booked a cab for us and even came downstairs to make sure we got the cab with no issues.Am from South Africa (8/10)
