HOTEL ANTEROOM SEOUL Overview
You know what caught me off guard about HOTEL ANTEROOM SEOUL? It’s actually got this really cool design-forward vibe that you don’t always expect from a 3-star place. I mean, when I first walked into the lobby, I honestly thought I’d stumbled into some boutique gallery space – there’s this minimalist aesthetic going on that feels very intentionally curated, not just thrown together.
The rooms are smaller than what you might be used to if you’re coming from North America, but that’s pretty standard for Seoul honestly, and they’ve made smart use of the space. Everything feels sleek and modern, with these clean lines and neutral tones that somehow manage to be calming rather than sterile. The beds are surprisingly comfortable too – I was expecting something firm (Korean hotels often go that route), but this was just right. What I really appreciated was the attention to lighting; they’ve got these warm ambient fixtures that make the space feel cozy in the evenings, which is exactly what you want after spending a day wandering around the city.
The staff here actually seems to care, which – let’s be real – can be hit or miss at mid-range hotels anywhere. Check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about getting to Hongdae late at night, the front desk person didn’t just point me toward a taxi but actually explained the subway timing and suggested a specific exit that would save me some walking. Those little touches make a difference when you’re trying to navigate a new city. The neighborhood itself is pretty solid for exploring – you’re not right in the thick of the tourist chaos, but you’re connected enough that getting around isn’t a hassle. I found myself walking to coffee shops and local spots that felt more authentic than the usual hotel district scene. The area gets quiet at night, which was perfect for actually getting some sleep (something I can’t always say about Seoul accommodations). Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or anything like that, but for the price point and that 8.2 rating, it delivers on what matters: clean, comfortable space with some genuine style and people who know what they’re doing.

The location was perfect for where we wanted to explore in the Sinsa area. It is conveniently located to a subway stop and there are myriad restaurants and shops around. The room was perfectly appointed and very comfortable.

I loved the 19th floor cafe. It had both amazing views and great food. The room itself was very comfortable and also had great eco friendly products that were perfect size for a short stay. The hotel was centrally located and very easy to commute from different parts of the city.
Ainara from Kazakhstan (7/10)
We enjoyed the nearby Garosu-gil and other cafe and shop-filled streets. The restaurant on the top floor and the gallery in the basement were a very welcome addition. The complimentary products (tea/shampoo/body wash/conditioner) were also pleasant.
