During the day, the whole area transforms – suddenly it’s art students sketching in Hongik Park and vendors selling everything from vintage band tees to handmade jewelry. The staff here gets that duality, actually. They’re incredibly helpful with recommendations, but they won’t steer you toward the obvious tourist traps. Ask them about late-night eats, and they’ll point you toward the pojangmacha (street food tents) that locals actually frequent, not just the ones with English signs.
