I stayed here last spring, and honestly, it’s one of those spots that grows on you. The real magic happens when you step outside though. Hapjeong and Mangwon – these aren’t the flashy tourist districts everyone talks about, but they’re where actual Seoul life happens. You’ve got the Han River literally a ten-minute walk away, and I spent way too many evenings just wandering along the bike paths watching locals have picnics and playing guitar. Mangwon Market is this incredible maze of food stalls and tiny restaurants that most guidebooks completely miss. I stumbled into this place that serves the most ridiculous kimchi jjigae at like 2 AM – the kind of discovery you make when you’re staying somewhere real instead of in the sterile hotel zones. The subway connections are genuinely fantastic too. Hongik University area is one stop away if you want nightlife, and you can get to Myeongdong or Gangnam without any transfers, which saves you so much time and hassle. The staff was pretty helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations, though don’t expect concierge-level service – it’s more like getting advice from a knowledgeable local friend. Honestly, for a 3-star place with a 9.0 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises: a clean, comfortable base in a neighborhood that feels authentically Seoul rather than tourist Seoul.
