Grand Hyatt Seoul Overview
You know what struck me first about the Grand Hyatt Seoul? The sheer scale of the lobby – I mean, you walk in and there’s this almost cathedral-like feeling with those soaring ceilings and marble everywhere. It’s honestly a bit overwhelming at first, but in a good way. The place sits right in the heart of Yongsan-gu, and I’ve got to say, the location is pretty brilliant if you want to feel plugged into the city without being completely overwhelmed by the Gangnam crowds.
What really impressed me during my stay was how they’ve managed to balance that classic luxury hotel feel with something that actually feels Korean. The staff – and I’m talking everyone from the concierge to the housekeeping team – genuinely seemed to know what they were doing. Check-in was smooth (no standing around for twenty minutes like some places), and honestly, they remembered my name every time I walked through that lobby. The rooms are spacious by Seoul standards – I had one of their standard kings and could actually walk around the bed without bumping into anything, which is saying something. The bathroom was this whole marble situation with a soaking tub that I definitely took advantage of after long days walking around Seoul.
Here’s the thing though – it’s not just about the fancy finishes. The hotel sits perfectly positioned near Namsan Tower, so you can actually walk there if you’re feeling energetic, and you’re close enough to Itaewon that you can grab authentic international food when you need a break from Korean cuisine (though honestly, why would you?). The breakfast spread is pretty solid – they do both Western and Korean options well, and the coffee actually tastes like coffee, not hotel water. I noticed the place tends to get busy with business travelers during the week, but weekends have more of a leisure vibe. One small thing – the elevators can get packed during peak times since it’s such a large property, but that’s really my only complaint. The fitness center stays open 24/7, which saved me more than once with jet lag keeping me up at weird hours. If you’re looking for that polished, international hotel experience while still feeling connected to the city, this place delivers without making you feel like you could be anywhere in the world.

Reviews of Grand Hyatt Seoul
Rachel from China (8/10)
The service was superb. The hotel staff is very attentive from concierge, front desk to dining service, really all the way around.
The outdoor pool is amazing. It gets busy during holiday time, and the hotel has divided whole day into 4 session system to manage the crowd, which seems to be quite effective. However, the pool can still get busy in the afternoon, especially during and before the weekend.
The room size is smaller than usual, but you get everything you’d need. I have a teenager, a tweenager, and a smaller boy. We were able to fit in comfortably in a king-size bed room with a sofa that can be converted to an extra bed.
The hotel is situated on the top of a mountain in a nice neighborhood, right above Itaewon. The view is spectacular, and I enjoyed quietness from being away from the crowd. It’s an easy taxi ride to Itaewon, Myeong-dong, Dongdaemum etc, the usual tourist area. There are many restaurants along a short hill walk from the hotel. If you want to stay, the hotel has many restaurant options and the deli can be the convenient option as well.Onon from Poland (8/10)
The localization and the cityview of Seoul is exquisite.

Perfect location within walking distance of lots of good restaurants and fun shops, Leeum museum and other galleries.
Hotel has marvellous gardens, and the views from the River view rooms are unbeatable. The old style rooms (standard type) are by far the most stylish with a slightly Japanese flavour and have new bathrooms.Maz from Australia (7/10)

Christophe from Seychelles (9/10)
The room view was great. The blinds were amazing, no light went through it, and we didn't know what time it was as it was so dark and peaceful.
Staff very friendly.and professional.
Food was well presented.
Several eating and drinking places in the hotel that was nice. Drinks in the bar really good.
Room service is quick and served well.
If you like supercars, they have a lot outside at the lobby upon entrance parked up. Good view.
Hotel staff helped to get taxis really quickly. They even give you a taxi card to show the taxi to and from the hotel.Umut from Vietnam (9/10)
