G2 Hotel Myeongdong Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into G2 Hotel Myeongdong, I wasn’t expecting much from another mid-range place in Seoul‘s tourist district. But you know what? This 4-star spot actually surprised me in the best way. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be fancy, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to help rather than just going through the motions. I mean, the woman at check-in even drew little arrows on my map showing me the quickest way to avoid the weekend crowds at Namdaemun Market.
What really won me over though was how they’ve managed to balance being right in the thick of things without the chaos bleeding into your room. Myeongdong can get pretty intense – especially those narrow streets packed with street food vendors and cosmetics shops – but once you’re upstairs, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The rooms aren’t huge (this is Seoul, after all), but they’re smartly designed with plenty of outlets near the bed and a decent shower with actual water pressure. The AC works well too, which honestly matters more than you’d think during those humid summer months. I stayed on the seventh floor and could barely hear the street noise, though I’d probably avoid the lower floors if you’re a light sleeper.
The location is really what makes this place shine – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Myeongdong Station, which makes getting around the city ridiculously easy. But more importantly, you can stumble back to your room after trying way too much Korean fried chicken and soju without having to figure out late-night transportation. There’s a 7-Eleven right around the corner (essential for those midnight snack runs), and you’re close enough to Dongdaemun that you can easily hit both shopping districts in one day if you’re into that sort of marathon. The breakfast isn’t anything special – sort of a basic continental spread – but there are so many incredible local spots within walking distance that I’d honestly skip it and grab hotteok from a street cart instead. With an 8.6 rating, it’s clear other travelers are picking up on what I noticed: this isn’t the fanciest hotel you’ll ever stay in, but it gets the important stuff right and doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not.

First of all they upgraded me to a triple room which meant extra space and a bigger bathroom which I obviously loved. They have these silky robes that are the most comfy thing to wear after a long day out exploring the city. I forgot to ask them where they buy them because I want one for myself!
View from my room (701, 7th floor right in front of the elevator) has a lovely view of the city and mountains and could see the sun rising.
Toilet has all the amenities you can think of, warm seat included.
Bed is super comfy with plenty of pillows – best naps ever!
Hotel is close to the Myeongdong night market, meteo/bus and to all amenities.Lara from Australia (9/10)

Great location. The room was perfect for a couple, spacious enough. Very high cleanliness standards. Also, the terrace on the 16th floor with a nice view was a great place to chill after long days of sightseeing. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed for 10 days, so it's nice that we could use the laundry room with washing machine, dryer and iron.
