Elie Stay Seoul Jeungsan Station
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about Elie Stay Seoul Jeungsan Station? For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight class. I mean, I wasn’t expecting much when I first booked it – honestly, I was just looking for something clean and close to the subway – but this little gem actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The location is honestly perfect if you’re planning to explore beyond the usual tourist traps in central Seoul. Jeungsan Station is right there (literally a 2-minute walk), and from there you can zip down to Hongdae or Myeongdong in about 20-25 minutes without dealing with the crazy crowds at the major transfer stations. What I really loved was the neighborhood vibe around here – it’s got this authentic local feel where you’ll see ajummas heading to the market in the morning and office workers grabbing late-night snacks at the convenience stores. There’s actually a fantastic 24-hour Korean BBQ place just around the corner that the hotel staff recommended, and I swear I ate there three times during my four-day stay.
The rooms themselves are compact but thoughtfully designed – you can tell someone actually stayed in these spaces before deciding on the layout. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that makes you want to stay in there way longer than necessary. Here’s something I appreciated: the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors, which is honestly rare in Seoul accommodations at this price point. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building, and there are plenty of outlets near the bed – small details that matter when you’re actually living in the space. Check-in was smooth, though the front desk staff’s English is pretty basic, so having your phone translator ready helps. But honestly, they’re so genuinely helpful that communication never felt like a real barrier. One tiny thing – the elevator is a bit slow during peak hours, but I’m talking maybe waiting an extra minute or two, nothing dramatic.
