I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the DW Design Residence, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a 3-star place, but this little gem actually surprised me in all the right ways. The lobby has this modern, minimalist vibe that feels way more expensive than what you’re paying, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re traveling on a budget but don’t want to feel like you’re roughing it.

The design element really isn’t just marketing speak here – whoever put this place together actually has an eye for clean lines and smart use of space. My room was compact but thoughtfully laid out, with these clever built-in storage solutions that made unpacking a breeze (and I’m someone who usually lives out of a suitcase because hotel closets are terrible). The bathroom was surprisingly spacious too, which honestly caught me off guard. I mean, you expect cramped quarters at this price point, but they managed to fit in a proper shower that didn’t require contortionist skills to use.

What really won me over was the attention to small details that most places overlook. The lighting actually works for both getting ready in the morning and winding down at night – sounds basic, but you’d be amazed how many hotels mess this up. The bed was firm enough to sleep well on but not like sleeping on concrete, and the pillows… well, they weren’t amazing but definitely serviceable. The 7.8 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury, everything functions properly and looks good doing it. Check-in was smooth, the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and the WiFi actually worked throughout my stay (another thing you can’t take for granted). Sure, you won’t get room service or a concierge, but if you’re looking for a clean, well-designed base to explore from without breaking the bank, this place delivers on its promises without any unpleasant surprises.
