Dada Stay Hongdae
Your Seoul Retreat
Honestly, when I first walked into Dada Stay Hongdae, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name had this quirky, artistic vibe that could’ve gone either way. But you know what? It actually fits the place perfectly. There’s something wonderfully unconventional about this 3-star spot that feels completely at home in the creative chaos of Seoul‘s most vibrant district. The lobby has this eclectic mix of modern furniture and playful art pieces that immediately tells you this isn’t your standard business hotel. I mean, where else would you find a bright yellow vintage couch next to sleek black check-in counters?
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely get the Hongdae spirit – they’re young, friendly, and actually helpful when you’re trying to figure out which club stays open latest or where to grab the best late-night Korean fried chicken. The rooms are compact but cleverly designed, sort of like a well-organized studio apartment where everything has its place. Sure, you’re not going to be doing cartwheels in there, but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the soundproofing is decent (crucial when you’re literally in the heart of Seoul’s party district). I stayed on the fourth floor and could hear the street energy without it keeping me awake – though honestly, if you’re coming to Hongdae to sleep early, you’re doing it wrong anyway.
The location is absolutely unbeatable if you want to dive headfirst into Seoul’s indie music scene and nightlife culture. You’re a three-minute walk from Hongik University Station, which connects you to the rest of the city, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by the kind of narrow alleyways packed with hole-in-the-wall bars, vinyl record shops, and street food vendors that make Hongdae legendary. I discovered my new favorite makgeolli bar literally around the corner – the kind of place you’d never find without stumbling across it. The rating of 7.5 feels about right to me; it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises with genuine character. There were a few minor quirks (the elevator is tiny, and the WiFi got a bit spotty during peak hours), but those felt like charming imperfections rather than real problems. If you’re looking for a place that captures the creative, slightly rebellious energy of this neighborhood while giving you a clean, comfortable base to explore from, Dada Stay really nails that balance between authentic local flavor and traveler practicality.

Guest Reviews
The rooms are really gooddddd...cozy...
Location of the homestay is about 3 mins to the nearest busy stop and less than 8 mins to the nearest train station. A lot of good food and convenient store located around. A few bakeries and local eatery just outside of the homestay.
The rooftop portion was a great place to relax and it was very close to the other attractions my group was trying to go to
Location is quite good, not far from subway station.
Very spacious (for 3 people) host response quickly.
Size of the room was great for two persons and the room consisted of fridge, ac, hairdryer, small kitchen where you can toast, boil water and other cooking if you'd like to.
Great location, many places to eat nearby. Walking distance to metro station. Room was cosy and comfortable.
Location was great. We could access restaurants and local facilities easily.
Staff responded to messages fairly quickly.
Great location and facility.
The beds were really soft, and it is an EXCELLENT location. Cute little spot! Overall, would definitely recommend, despite the mosquitos.
