Haru Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking up to Haru Stay in Seoul‘s Gwanak-gu district, you might wonder if you’ve got the right address — it’s tucked away on the third floor of a building on a quiet residential street. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star guesthouse feels more like staying at a friend’s well-designed apartment than a typical hotel, and the 9.5 rating starts making sense the moment you step inside.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in a real Seoul neighborhood, not some touristy bubble. Gwanak-gu might not be as flashy as Gangnam, but it’s got this authentic local vibe that couples seem to absolutely adore (the feedback backs this up). You’ll find yourself walking past tiny convenience stores, local eateries where the ajumma behind the counter might not speak English but will definitely make sure you’re well-fed, and residential streets that give you a glimpse of how Seoulites actually live. The subway connections are solid too, so getting to the main attractions isn’t a hassle.
The Space Itself
Each room at Haru Stay feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional. The owners clearly put effort into making the space feel homey — you know, the kind of place where you might actually want to hang out rather than just crash for the night. The interiors have this clean, minimalist Korean aesthetic without being stark or cold. What really impressed me was the attention to small details, like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets in the right places (travelers will appreciate this more than they realize).
What Makes It Special
The thing about Haru Stay is that it gets the fundamentals right in a way that bigger hotels sometimes miss. The cleanliness is spotless — I mean, you could probably eat off the floors. The hosts are genuinely helpful without being overbearing, and they seem to actually care about whether you’re enjoying Seoul. There’s this personal touch that you just don’t get at chain hotels, like local recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. Plus, the building itself is quiet, which is honestly a blessing when you’re trying to recover from jet lag or long days of exploring the city.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.5 rating isn’t just a fluke — this place consistently delivers on what it promises. Couples especially seem drawn to the intimate, cozy atmosphere and the fact that it feels like a real retreat from the bustling city. The location hits that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the crowds to actually relax. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself planning your next Seoul trip before you’ve even checked out, and honestly, that says everything you need to know about whether it’s worth booking.
Hotels in Seoul offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this metropolitan hub, with easy access to world-class shopping, traditional markets, and vibrant nightlife districts.

Guest Reviews
Very clean and aesthetically pleasing interior. The owner was very kind and brought us a iron for our clothing when we asked and always checked in with us to see if we were still okay. Will definitely visit again!
