Cottage nest Overview
First Impressions
Walking down the narrow stone paths of Bukchon Hanok Village to find Cottage nest feels like stepping back in time — except you’re heading to a cozy three-star guesthouse that somehow manages to blend traditional Korean charm with modern comfort. The building itself isn’t a traditional hanok, but honestly, that works in its favor since you get the neighborhood’s incredible atmosphere without sacrificing things like proper heating and hot water. I mean, there’s something magical about being tucked away in one of Seoul‘s most photogenic districts while still having all the amenities you actually need.
The Bukchon Experience
You know what’s brilliant about staying here? You’re literally in the heart of Bukchon, which means you can wander those Instagram-famous alleyways at sunrise before the tour groups arrive. The location gets a 9.2 rating from recent guests, and I totally get why — you’re walking distance from Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong’s tea houses, and some of Seoul’s best traditional restaurant. Couples especially love it here (they rated the location 9.5), probably because there’s something inherently romantic about getting lost in these historic streets together, then coming back to your own little retreat.
Your Room and Relaxation
The room itself is compact but thoughtfully designed, with clean lines and just enough Korean touches to remind you where you are without feeling like a theme park. What really sets this place apart though is the hot tub and jacuzzi — after a long day of temple-hopping and market browsing, sinking into hot water feels absolutely perfect. They’ve also got hot spring baths and an spa open-air bath option, which is sort of unexpected for a smaller property like this but makes total sense once you experience it.
Practical Perks
Here’s what I appreciated about the practical side — the staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the best local spots (not just the touristy ones). The building stays quiet despite being in such a central area, probably because Bukchon itself maintains this peaceful, residential vibe even with all the visitors. You’ll want comfortable walking shoes since you’re on traditional stone streets, but that’s part of the charm. The nearby subway connections make it easy to explore other parts of Seoul when you’re ready to venture beyond this historic bubble.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.1 overall rating, Cottage nest clearly does something right — and I think it’s the balance they strike between location and comfort. You’re not staying in some sterile hotel district; you’re actually living in one of Seoul’s most culturally rich neighborhoods. The hot spring facilities give you that authentic Korean wellness experience without having to trek to a separate spa, and the intimate size means you’re not fighting crowds for anything. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because leaving this little corner of Seoul feels harder than you expected.

Self check-in facile. Explications claires sur la localisation de la maison.
Interieur très sympa et très propre, avec mobilier high tech qui se marie pourtant bien avec le charme de la maison.
Nous n avons pas testé le bain extérieur.
L hôte était très réactif.Yan from Switzerland (7/10)
Appartement bien placé près des palais et à deux minutes à pied d’une ligne de bus dans un quartier tranquille
