You know what caught me off guard about White Stay? The name sounds almost clinical, but honestly, this 3-star gem turned out to be one of those places that just gets it right in all the ways that actually matter when you’re traveling.
I mean, look – I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels with fancy lobbies and terrible WiFi, or gorgeous pools but paper-thin walls. White Stay doesn’t try to wow you with marble floors or whatever, but the stuff they do focus on is spot-on. The rooms are clean in that “I could actually walk around barefoot” way, which sounds basic but trust me, it’s rarer than you’d think. The bed was properly comfortable too – not too soft, not like sleeping on a board. And honestly? The shower pressure was better than what I have at home, which is saying something. There’s this attention to detail that you notice right away, like how the curtains actually block out light completely, and the AC doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on the roof.
What really impressed me was how smoothly everything ran. Check-in was quick without feeling rushed, and the staff seemed to genuinely know what they were doing rather than just following a script. I asked about late checkout and got a straight answer instead of that “let me check with my manager” dance. The housekeeping was consistent too – came by at reasonable hours, didn’t rearrange all my stuff, actually replaced the coffee packets. It’s those little things that add up, you know? Plus the WiFi worked properly throughout the building, which apparently deserves a medal these days. I was getting work done in the lobby at 11 PM without any issues.
The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. This isn’t about luxury or Instagram-worthy amenities – it’s about doing the fundamentals really well and not pretending to be something it’s not. I actually found myself sleeping better than usual, which probably says more about the place than any fancy description could. If you’re looking for somewhere reliable that won’t blow your budget but also won’t leave you counting down the hours until checkout, White Stay delivers exactly that. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just work without any drama, and that’s definitely what you get here.

Well located! It’s very close to subway exit 2 and walking distance to the heart of the bustling area.
Washing machine is a big plus. Very close to Hongkik station. Clean and well supplied. Beds were comfortable.
The location is fab. It’s such a great vibe, close to so much food and shopping! The easiest walk from the station and on the line to the airport so no need for taxis. We have young children and 3 large suitcases and managed. The space is very clean, beautiful new bathroom and enough space to put your luggage too. We stayed at the end of our trip so it was a short time, would happily stay longer at this location again.
It was perfect for a family of 4. We appreciate all the amenities in the room - washer, drying rack, kitchenette, ironing board, iron, universal adapters, etc. The room manager, Robert, was very prompt and responsive in giving clear and detailed check-in info, directions, and other common things to take note of.
The host is very nice and helped me well to reach my needs. The location is great and close to the metro. The room is spacious and clean.
Sarah & Robert's place is exceptional! The location is perfect, easily accessible. Bus stops are in front of the building (Magellan 21) and subway exit 2 and 8 are just 30 - 50 meters away. Very very convenient, especially for those who take activity package from Klook.
As this place is on the main street of Hongdae, there are endless shopping outlets and convenient stores. Super convenient.
White Stay is also great for families with kids as it is not hilly like other places in Seoul. Our kids simply loved the place! I must mention that the view from the place is simply amazing! Look out for the sunset view. Breathtaking!
Sarah & Robert are superb hosts! They greeted us when we arrived, explained to us how to use the lock and facilities in the place. They even met us when we were about to leave. Such great hospitality.
Thw room is cleaned and the towels are changed everyday. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The room has a heater. The floor can be slightly cold during winter, but it is not a big deal at all
A plus point - for Muslims, there are halal restaurants nearby (less then 400m away) - Tteutbakke Lamb Skewer and Halal Guys.
This place is highly recommended. We will definitely come back to Sarah & Robert' White Stay!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und hatte die perfekte Lage für unsere Reise in Seoul/Hongdae. Außerdem nicht mal eine Minute Fußweg bis zur nächsten U-Bahn, sehr praktisch. Robert, unser Ansprechpartner konnte gut englisch und war sehr nett und aufmerksam in den 2 Wochen 🥰
