COEX VIP 15 New Open [2 Queen beds]
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what really caught me off guard about COEX VIP 15 New Open? The fact that they managed to nail that “just opened” feeling without any of the usual growing pains you’d expect from a brand new place. I mean, when I first walked into the lobby, everything had this pristine, untouched quality – like being the first person to peel the plastic off a new phone screen. The two queen beds in my room were honestly some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in years, and I’m pretty picky about mattresses after too many nights on saggy hotel beds that left me feeling like a pretzel.
What really impressed me was how they’ve thought through the little details that most places overlook. The lighting actually makes sense – you can read without squinting, but it’s not so harsh that you feel like you’re in an operating room. The bathroom setup is smart too, with enough counter space that you’re not playing Tetris with your toiletries. And here’s something I genuinely appreciated: the soundproofing is exceptional. I was expecting to hear every footstep and conversation from neighboring rooms (you know how new construction can be hit or miss with that), but honestly, once I closed the door, it was like being in my own little bubble. The air conditioning runs quietly too – none of that rattling or sudden clicking that jolts you awake at 3 AM.
The staff seems genuinely excited to be there, which makes a huge difference in the whole experience. Check-in was smooth, and they actually knew answers to my random questions about the area instead of just pointing me toward a generic tourist map. I have to say, for a 4-star property, they’re definitely punching above their weight class. The whole place has this fresh energy that you don’t always find, even at more expensive hotels. Sure, it might take them a few months to work out all the tiny kinks that come with being so new, but right now there’s something really appealing about experiencing a place before it gets too settled into routines. If you’re the type who likes being among the first to discover something good – and you want those two queen beds for spreading out or traveling with someone who needs their space – this is definitely worth considering.
