Check-in was smooth both times, though I’d recommend avoiding Friday evenings when the whole area gets packed with people heading out for the weekend.

What I love about this spot is that you’re genuinely living like a local for a few days. The morning sounds aren’t tourist buses, they’re delivery scooters and people heading to work, which honestly made me feel more connected to the city. The rooms are clean and functional – definitely that efficient Korean style where everything has its place and nothing’s wasted. Sure, it’s a 3-star place so don’t expect marble bathrooms, but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the WiFi actually works everywhere (tested it extensively while binge-watching K-dramas, obviously). One small thing that bugged me the first visit was that the walls are a bit thin, so you might hear conversations from the hallway, but it quiets down pretty early since this isn’t really a party hotel. The real magic happens when you step outside though – you’re surrounded by these incredible little restaurants and cafes that you’d never find if you were staying in some international hotel district. There’s this pojangmacha (street food cart) literally around the corner that serves the best tteokbokki I had in Seoul, and I tried a *lot* of tteokbokki. Plus, being this close to the Han River means you can actually walk there for morning runs or evening strolls, which was perfect for clearing my head after long days of sightseeing. If you want to experience Seoul like someone who actually lives there instead of just passing through, this place gets you there without breaking the bank.
