But after staying there, I totally get why it has such an impressive 9.3 rating. This women-only guesthouse has something really special going on that you don’t find at your typical hotel.

What struck me immediately was how thoughtfully everything was designed with female travelers in mind. I mean, it’s not just about slapping a “women only” sign on the door and calling it a day. The common areas have this really comfortable vibe where you can actually relax without feeling like you need to be “on” all the time – you know what I mean? There are these cozy seating nooks with good lighting (finally, somewhere you can actually read without squinting), and honestly, the bathroom situation is just so much better than mixed accommodations. No waiting around, no weird encounters, just clean facilities that stay clean because, well, women tend to keep shared spaces tidy.

The staff really seems to understand what solo female travelers need. They’re incredibly helpful with local recommendations, and I noticed they actually pay attention to safety details that other places might overlook. The check-in process was smooth, and they gave me genuinely useful tips about getting around rather than just handing over a generic tourist map. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve stayed. The bedding was actually good quality, not those scratchy sheets you sometimes get at guesthouses.

What I really appreciated was the atmosphere among guests. There’s something about a women-only space that just feels more relaxed and social. I ended up having some great conversations with other travelers in the common area – something that doesn’t always happen when you’re staying somewhere mixed. But if you’re a woman traveling solo or even with female friends, and you want somewhere that feels secure, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming, this guesthouse nails it. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s well above average in all the ways that actually matter for a good stay. I’d definitely book here again, and that’s saying something because I’m usually pretty picky about where I stay.

  Definitely the best place to stay in Seoul. The Appartement is really close to Hongik station and you can reach the hongdae area easily by foot and everything is really close by metro.
  The apartment is so beautiful and clean. You got everything you need and the owner, the sweetest lady, makes you feel so welcome. Even facemasks were provided. We were so impressed by this apartment, I would recommend everyone to come here when traveling to Seoul.

  Quiet, secure, and very clean. Very responsive service from the in-house staff and well located within reach of convenience stores, restaurants and cafes as well as a 24-hour laundry.

  very helpful and responsive staff. also had facilities like microwave and weighing scale in the common area for use whenever needed. i also liked that the property was double locked and had cctv which made me feel safe:) overall the place was very clean and comfortable!

  This guesthouse is phenomenal! Especially for foreigners, it’s in the perfect location! You can walk to Hongdae very fast and safely, and there’s everything you can imagine in Hongdae. There’s also a CU (convenience store) only 2 minute walk away which is super nice! It’s clean and very safe with locks on the outside doors and individual rooms. She gives a hairbrush,straightener, blow dryer, extension cord, towels, water, basically everything you need. The trash is really convenient and easy with both recycling and waste. There’s 2 cafes right next to this place as well with yummy food! She’s very communicative and helpful with anything you need! I highly highly recommend this stay for a first time in Seoul, especially if you want to explore and have fun in Hongdae.

  Such a beautiful room. Myself and my daughter loved our stay here. We booked it last minute due to unexpected fan meet. Location was great but peaceful. The host was so lovely and was a bonus meeting her little dogs. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend it.

  Love everything about this guesthouse. Super comfortable and very clean. Also, so quite, we really had good sleep there. The host was so nice, and there are 2 puppies. They are so cute! 😍. I missed him so much. Next time, I will definitely come again this guesthouse.

  I booked the same day as i had a nightmare with my prebooked accommodation elsewhere. Im so grateful there was availability!
  The owner was very nice and welcoming, made me feel right at home as a solo female traveller.
  The room was spacious, the bed was like heaven, and the AC was fantastic.
  The location was great, lots of convenience stores nearby, subway was close, even 24h cafes etc.
  There were lots of cute freebies like face masks. There were even free K-pop albums out for guests to take!

  Self check-in system is very convenient. Before the check-in, they sent me about check-in way by emails. Also we could use free luggage storage. Room was very beautiful and clean. Definitely I will stay this Guesthouse again.
