Aloft Seoul Gangnam
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Aloft Seoul Gangnam, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star place in one of the city’s priciest districts. But you know what? This hotel actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The lobby hits you immediately with this vibrant, almost club-like energy that feels authentically Korean modern rather than trying too hard to be Western hip. There’s usually some decent music playing (not elevator muzak, thank god), and the staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag and trying to figure out the subway system.
What really won me over was how the hotel sits perfectly in the heart of Gangnam without being pretentious about it. You’re literally walking distance from some incredible Korean BBQ spots that locals actually frequent – I mean, you can smell the galbi grilling from the street, and there’s this 24-hour convenience store right around the corner that became my best friend during late-night snack runs. The rooms themselves are smart rather than spacious (this is Seoul, after all, real estate is precious), but they’ve maximized every inch thoughtfully. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and the shower pressure is actually decent – something I’ve learned never to take for granted in urban Asian hotels.
Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though: the location gives you authentic Gangnam life without the tourist trap feeling. You’ll hear the city humming outside your window – not annoyingly loud, just that constant gentle buzz of a neighborhood that’s actually alive. The subway connections are genuinely convenient (Gangnam Station is a quick walk), and you’re close enough to both the glitzy shopping areas and the more residential streets where you can grab amazing street food. I stayed here during both a busy conference season and a quieter winter week, and honestly, the vibe stayed consistently good. The 8.5 rating makes perfect sense – it’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but it delivers exactly what it promises with some genuine Korean hospitality thrown in. If you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Seoul rather than some international bubble, this spot nails it.
Apartments in Seoul provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Korean markets and experience daily life in modern residential neighborhoods.

Guest Reviews
Nice hotel and one of the few that accepts cats. It was a nice stay with my pet, even though pets are only allowed in double rooms so we had to book 2 rooms. Rooms are spacious and offer every comfort. Overall very satisfied
Room - clean room with Han River view.
Service - helpful staff and free bottles of water on requests.
Location - a bit far from the buzzing area but close to the subway station and just a few steps from the airport bus station.
Breakfast
Ease of access, quiet
We liked the location and the staff who were first class
Our room had a great view across the river
The hotel is ok, but nothing exceptional like you find in other hotels in Asia. Rooms are fairly small and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Biggest downside for this hotel is the location, it’s perfect for shopping but not for site seeing. Traffic in this area is a mess do busses are delayed, taxis get stuck in traffic and the closest metro station is 1,5 km away from the hotel. Getting to the Myendong and City Hall area takes on average 1 hour. Next time I’ll be staying closer to City Hall as that’s much more convenient for sightseeing.
Location, cleanliness, surprisingly quiet.
Amazing breakfast
Staff very helpful. Comfortable bed and room with all things needed
