9 Brick Hotel
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about 9 Brick Hotel? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you, but somehow ends up doing exactly that. I mean, with a name like “9 Brick,” I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect – maybe some industrial-chic thing or a converted warehouse? But it’s actually got this understated charm that grows on you the longer you stay.
The lobby has this warm, almost residential feel – think more like walking into a well-designed friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure I had everything I needed, which you don’t always get at three-star places. Check-in was smooth, no drama, and they actually remembered my name when I passed by the front desk later. Small thing, but it matters. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being fancy – good beds (seriously, I slept well), decent-sized bathrooms, and everything works like it should. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which is always a relief when you need to get work done or just want to stream something after a long day.
What really sells this place for me is the attention to detail without the pretension. The common areas have this lived-in quality that makes you want to hang out rather than just pass through. I spent a surprising amount of time in their little seating area just people-watching and planning my next day. The whole vibe is relaxed and genuine – staff chat with you like actual humans, other guests aren’t rushing around stressed, and there’s this sense that everyone’s just taking things as they come. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable asking for restaurant recommendations or directions, and you know you’ll get honest answers rather than rehearsed responses. For what you pay, honestly, it delivers more personality and comfort than a lot of chain hotels that charge twice as much. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels authentic and unpretentious – where you can actually relax instead of feeling like you’re performing the role of “hotel guest” – this place hits that sweet spot perfectly.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Seoul through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s blend of tradition and innovation.

Guest Reviews
I really liked the room (the bathtub was just what I needed after a 15 hour flight), the location is closed to transportation, and the hangdae street (no issues with noise)

Location
Amazing location, lovely staff, very clean, beautifully maintained
This is a stylish place with brick interior, hence the name. They offered not just a buffet but a freshly cooked breakfast, served in a beautiful patio restaurant. The room was big enough and had a comfy bed and good shower.
The place is located right at the hongdae shopping n food street. 7mims walk to Hangul university station. They allow late check out up to 2pm
Location is in the heart hondae and near a metro stop.
