Yongsan 1 Overview
You know what really caught me off guard about Yongsan 1? I walked in expecting just another decent mid-range place, but honestly, this hotel punches way above its weight class. The lobby has this understated elegance that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special – not flashy or over-the-top, just really thoughtfully done with clean lines and this warm lighting that actually makes you want to linger instead of rushing straight to your room.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Seoul at all. You’re right in the heart of Yongsan, which means you can walk to some of the best local spots that most tourists completely miss. There’s this incredible street food scene just a few blocks away that comes alive after dark, and I mean the real deal – not the sanitized tourist version. The staff here seems to get that too; they’ll actually point you toward the good stuff instead of just handing you the standard tourist map. I was impressed by how genuine their recommendations were – they sent me to this tiny restaurant that served the best kimchi jjigae I had in my entire trip, and I never would have found it on my own.
What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail. The rooms are immaculate (and I mean spotless in a way that suggests they actually care, not just going through the motions), but it’s the little things that stick with you. The shower pressure is fantastic – you know how hit-or-miss that can be in hotels – and they’ve got these blackout curtains that actually work if you’re dealing with jet lag. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but you’d be surprised how many places still struggle with that basic requirement. Check-in was smooth as butter, and the front desk staff spoke excellent English without making you feel like you’re inconveniencing them, which can be refreshing when you’re navigating a new city. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places where every single thing just works the way it’s supposed to, without any of those small annoyances that can chip away at an otherwise good trip. If you’re looking for something reliable with character in Seoul, this is definitely worth considering.
Seoul’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of traditional Korean hospitality and ultra-modern amenities, with many featuring spa services and authentic Korean cultural experiences.

Nice, clean, peaceful accommodation with everything you need. You can stay here easily for a longer time, week or so. There was snacks, drinks, shampoos ready waiting for you. The host was very friendly. Everything was good! There is also little food market around the corner. Train station is not too far away.

Compared to other similar options within this price range, it's an amazing place.
You have your own bathroom, two (small) bedrooms, a small semi-balcony area in the back with a view on the mountain and tower and a rarely used sports field.
The hosts were very communicative, supportive and generally sweet people. They provide a lot of snacks and water included in the price.
There is a local bus very nearby, and the area is both quiet and also close to a lot of hip food places.
The place is actually bigger and nicer than the photos make it look.Kira from Denmark (10/10)

Very good transport links. There's a bus (Yongsan 02) 1 min walk from the property that takes you to nearby towns/cities/subways.
Place is kept very clean and they have all the essentials. (Washing machine, washing liquid, shampoo, body wash, hairdryer etc.)
Complimentary food – a variety of snacks and instant food provided in the cupboard. Provided drinking water.
Owners just live in the building upstairs. Quick to respond to messages and tried their best to accommodate us.Pierre from France (10/10)
L'accueil chaleureux malgré une arrivée très tardive à 3h30 du matin, boissons et nourritures à disposition, propreté des lieux, situation calme proche d'un quartier animé, bus à 200m.
