Wecostay Namsan Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Wecostay Namsan? I’d walked past similar buildings in this part of Seoul dozens of times, but something about the way they’ve designed the entrance actually makes you feel welcome before you even step inside. It’s got this clean, modern vibe without being sterile – if that makes sense. The lobby smells faintly of that subtle Korean wood polish they use everywhere, and honestly, after staying in places that reek of industrial carpet cleaner, it’s refreshing.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re close enough to Namsan Tower that you can see it from some rooms (though don’t expect every room to have that view – I learned that the hard way on my second visit), but far enough from the main tourist crush that you’re not dealing with constant foot traffic outside your window. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to grab late-night snacks – there’s a convenience store literally two minutes away, and if you’re feeling more adventurous, some fantastic hole-in-the-wall Korean barbecue spots that most tourists never find. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I asked about them, which tells me they’re used to guests who stick to the obvious places.
I mean, it’s a solid 4-star experience with an 8.8 rating that feels earned rather than inflated. The rooms are well-thought-out – not huge, but cleverly designed so you’re not tripping over your luggage every time you want to use the bathroom. The shower pressure is actually decent (and if you’ve stayed in enough Seoul hotels, you know that’s not always guaranteed), and they’ve got those heated bathroom floors that make early morning routines so much more bearable in winter. What struck me most was the attention to small details – like having enough outlets near the bed for all your devices, and blackout curtains that actually block out the city lights. The Wi-Fi works consistently throughout the building, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024, but here we are. One thing though – if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs. The neighborhood isn’t loud, but Seoul is Seoul, and there’s always some ambient city hum. Check-in was smooth both times I stayed, and the front desk staff’s English is good enough for actual conversations, not just basic transactions. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, especially if I wanted to explore that part of the city properly rather than just hitting the major tourist spots.
Exploring Seoul offers visitors an unforgettable journey through South Korea’s dynamic capital, from its historic Joseon palaces to its futuristic districts and world-renowned Korean entertainment culture.

It's like a hybrid between Hotel and Airbnb type, best of the both. They have a manned office on the 1st floor and kakaotalk them if needed. They have plug adapters, steamers, and many other things that are super useful. Luggage storage before and after our stay was another plus. They even held for us shipped packages even before our checking in day ! Location is 1 subway stop away from Myungdong, 2 from namdaemun and dongdaemun, and 3 from Seoul station, airport express bus, 3 of them. Fast internet and no need for door key as it is code opening door. There is a nice and underrated hanok /museum village with a hanok cafe right across that a lot of people don't know about but worth a visit, can take a nice pic with namsan tower background for an instag pic.
This was our second time and will be our go to place in Seoul.Charmaine from Malaysia (8/10)

I recently stayed at Wecostay Namsan, and my experience was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived early in the morning, we were impressed by the level of service and convenience offered. Although check-in is at 4pm, we were able to store our luggage in a dedicated luggage storage room, which was a huge relief. Special thanks to Thomas, the manager, who was incredibly helpful. He not only guided us with the luggage storage but also gave us invaluable advice on using Naver Map for navigating Korea and recommended Myeongdong Street as a great spot to explore while waiting for our room.
We stayed in a room with one queen-size bed and one single bed, which comfortably accommodated my family of four (two adults and two young kids). The room was well-equipped with a modern kitchenette that had all the necessary tools, making it easy to prepare meals. The washing machine and dryer combo was another great feature, and it was a nice touch that detergent was provided.
The location of Wecostay Namsan couldn’t be more perfect. The subway station is right below the building, making it ideal for those who prefer public transportation. Although we mostly used Uber during our trip, the hotel’s central location meant that all popular hotspots like Gangnam, Hongdae, Seongsu, Itaewon, and Bukchon were just a short $10 ride away.
I noticed some reviews mentioning issues with the lift being busy, but in my experience, this was only the case around checkout time near 11am. I checked out a bit earlier and didn’t face any issues with the lift. The view from our room of Namsan Tower was also a highlight—simply breathtaking!
Overall, Wecostay Namsan exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely choose to stay here again on our next trip to Seoul. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and centrally-located place to stay in the city!Olga from Russia (9/10)
