Solasido Seoul Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Solasido Seoul, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come from keeping your expectations reasonable and just letting a place surprise you. This hotel absolutely did that for me, and I mean, a 9 rating doesn’t just happen by accident.
The thing about staying in Seoul is that location can make or break your entire trip, and Solasido gets this right in ways that matter. I’m talking about being close enough to the action that you’re not spending half your day on the subway, but tucked away enough that you can actually sleep at night without sirens and late-night karaoke bleeding through your windows. The staff here – and I’ve dealt with a lot of hotel staff in Korea – actually seem to care about helping you figure out the city. Not just the tourist trap stuff, but like, where to get decent coffee at 7 AM or which convenience store nearby has the best selection (it’s the GS25 around the corner, by the way).
What really sold me on this place was the attention to small things that most hotels completely ignore. The water pressure is solid, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than they have any right to be for this price point. I mean, I’ve paid twice as much at “fancier” places and ended up with a mattress that felt like sleeping on a stack of magazines. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Seoul, after all – but they’re thoughtfully laid out so you’re not constantly bumping into furniture or living out of your suitcase on the floor. There’s actually decent storage space, which sounds boring but becomes incredibly important on day three of your trip. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with those heated toilet seats that you forget how much you appreciate until you don’t have them anymore. One small thing that impressed me was how quiet the hallways stay, even when the hotel’s full – good soundproofing makes such a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag and need to sleep at weird hours. If I had to nitpick, the elevator can be a bit slow during busy times, but that’s pretty standard for buildings in this area.
Hotel in Seoul booking should be done early, especially during autumn foliage season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and festivals.

Ronan from France (9/10)
