Sillim Sindaebang Station Gocheok Sky Dome Lovely house
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Sillim Sindaebang Station Gocheok Sky Dome Lovely house, I thought it was one of those overly long Korean accommodation names that tries to cram every nearby landmark into the title. But you know what? After staying there, it actually makes sense. This 3-star place really does nail its location perfectly, and honestly, the 8.5 rating isn’t just inflated reviews from friends and family.
The house sits in this interesting pocket of Seoul where residential life meets serious sports action. I mean, you’re literally walking distance from Gocheok Sky Dome – and I’m talking actual walking distance, not that “15-minute walk” that turns into a half-hour trek most places promise. When there’s a baseball game on, you can actually hear the crowd roar from your room, which sounds annoying but is sort of charming in a very Korean way. The subway connection at Sindaebang Station is clutch too – Line 2 gets you pretty much anywhere you need to go without the usual three-transfer nightmare you deal with in other parts of the city.
What surprised me most was how genuinely homey the place feels despite being in such an urban spot. The owner clearly put thought into the small stuff – decent water pressure (always a gamble in Seoul), blackout curtains that actually block light, and this tiny but functional kitchenette that’s perfect for late-night ramyeon or storing all the convenience store snacks you’ll inevitably buy. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in vibe that’s refreshing after dealing with touristy areas. There’s a 24-hour convenience store literally around the corner, a few local restaurants that serve proper comfort food, and honestly, some of the best street food I had during my entire trip was from a cart just two blocks away. Parking can be a bit tight if you’re driving, but most people are using public transport anyway. The only real downside is that it gets pretty quiet at night – which most people would consider a plus, but if you’re looking for nightlife, you’ll need to hop on the subway. Overall though, it’s one of those places that just works, especially if you want to experience Seoul like someone who actually lives there rather than just passing through.

Guest Reviews
The apartment is so so lovely, really comfortable bed, well heated. I really enjoyed my stay. The host was also quick at responding, helpful and supportive. The area also has lots of cafes and restaurants.
My mom and I had a perfect stay. The host is very kind and responsive, everything was clean and we had everything we needed for a 10 day stay.
The space is a studio loft and the bathroom is a Korean style bathroom, with the shower area in the same space as toilet and sink. I think it is worth mentioning as it might be different from North American layouts. We had no problems with it and it was quite a functional use of space, just remember to switch the knob from shower to sink (otherwise you may get sprayed by water if you try to wash your hands the next time).
The studio it self and the building feels very new and it is very quiet, the most noise you might hear is from the main road outside but even so, it is usualy only the
garbage collection.
The appliances are super useful especially when coming from far to store and cook food and do laundry. You can find all the manuals in the storage under the staircase. It was also useful having good elevators in the building too, especially with our lugagge.
The location is great! It might be around a 14? ish walk to the number 2 Shindaebang subway line, but when in Korea do not be afraid to ride the buses~ as they are super useful. There is a community bus stop and a main bus stop right outside of the building, and we found that it pretty much went to everywhere we needed to go, even to Shin dae bang station (if you don't feel like walking). Just tap your IC card going on and off the bus, just like the subway.
There is a limousine airport bus that comes around twice a hour by Shindaebang station, which is so useful going to and from Incheon, and unlike other areas in Seoul, the walk to the station is quite flat so we had no trouble rolling our luggages to the stop.
My mom and I mostly stayed in the lower part of the studio, but the upper space has more closet space and a little reading nook/ sleeping space, that could be useful if you need some space from whoever you are with!
