Shal la la stay Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Shal la la stay in Seoul, you might wonder if you’ve got the right address — it’s tucked away on a quiet side street in Yongsan-gu, which honestly made me appreciate it even more. This three-star guesthouse sits on the second floor of a modest building, and while it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside, that’s actually part of its charm. The entrance feels more like you’re visiting a friend’s well-designed apartment than checking into a typical tourist spot.
The Yongsan Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in one of Seoul’s most underrated neighborhoods, away from the tourist chaos but still incredibly well-connected. Yongsan Station is close enough that you can reach pretty much anywhere in the city without the headache, and I mean anywhere. The area has this authentic Seoul vibe that you just don’t get in places like Myeongdong or Hongdae. You know what’s really nice? Couples seem to get this — they consistently rate the location highly, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about wandering these quieter streets together, discovering little cafes and local spots that most visitors never find.
Your Space
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — every inch serves a purpose without feeling cramped. The beds are comfortable (which isn’t always a given in Seoul’s budget-friendly places), and the whole space has this clean, minimalist aesthetic that feels very Korean. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in the city. The windows face away from the main road, so you actually get decent sleep, which is honestly worth its weight in gold when you’re dealing with jet lag.
Practical Perks
The staff here really know their stuff — they’re not just handing you a key and disappearing. I got solid recommendations for local restaurants that I never would have found on my own, plus practical tips about getting around that saved me both time and money. The building itself is well-maintained, and while there’s no fancy lobby or concierge desk, everything works as it should. The Wi-Fi is reliable (crucial for staying connected), and the shared spaces are kept spotless. It’s the kind of place where small details are handled well, even if they’re not flashy about it.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Shal la la stay isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything comes together. You get a genuine Seoul experience without paying premium prices, in a neighborhood that feels real rather than touristy. The high ratings make sense when you experience it firsthand; this place delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. For travelers who want to feel like they’re actually staying in Seoul rather than just visiting it, this guesthouse hits that sweet spot perfectly.
Early hotels booking in Seoul requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary palaces, shopping districts, and Korean cultural attractions.

Chung from Vietnam (9/10)
Beautiful and clean apartment, good location
Nor from Malaysia (8/10)
Our entire family loved the apartment—it was clean, well-equipped, and felt like a true home away from home. We especially enjoyed starting each day with breakfast in the cozy space before heading out on our sightseeing adventures. Picking up fresh fruits from the nearby shop to enjoy back at the apartment was a delightful touch. Coming back after a long day, we felt completely at ease, relaxing with Netflix and unwinding in comfort. We’re also so grateful for the convenience of being able to wash and prepare all our laundry before our next stop in Jeju. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Everything. Washing facility with dryer is great. Very spacious place. A pleased surprise as the outside is a but scary. Very centrally located. Both metro and buses close by.

Such a big space!
Bedrooms were nicely decorated, simple but cute.
Bless the owner for leaving instant noodle cups that saved me from hunger late at night haha.
The owner was very active with replying to my messages very late at night too, thank you so much for making it more comfortable for me.
Uber/taxis can still come pick you up or drop you off right in front of the apartment even though it’s a small alley way.Amanda from Canada (9/10)
