Seoul Station Joey House Overview

I stumbled upon Seoul Station Joey House during what was honestly a pretty chaotic trip planning situation – you know how it is when you’re booking last minute and everything decent seems either booked or way overpriced. But man, I’m so glad I ended up here because this place turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’re in on some local secret.

The location is absolutely perfect if you’re doing any serious exploring of Seoul. I mean, being right by Seoul Station means you’re basically connected to the entire city – the KTX, subway lines, airport express, everything just clicks into place from here. What I really loved though is that despite being so close to all that transit chaos, the actual hotel sits on this quieter side street where you can actually sleep at night. The first morning I was there, I grabbed coffee from this tiny place around the corner (the owner barely spoke English but made incredible cappuccinos) and realized I could walk to Myeongdong in like fifteen minutes, or hop on Line 4 and be in Hongdae before I finished my drink.

The rooms themselves – honestly, they surprised me. For a 4-star place, I wasn’t expecting much character, but there’s this really thoughtful design throughout that feels modern without being cold. My room had this great big window that actually opened (you’d be amazed how rare that is), and the bathroom was one of those where you can tell someone actually thought about how real people use the space. The shower pressure was fantastic, which after a long day wandering around neighborhoods like Insadong, you definitely appreciate. What really impressed me though was the staff – there’s this genuine helpfulness that goes beyond just doing their job. When I was trying to figure out how to get to some temple way out in the mountains, the front desk guy actually pulled up the bus schedule on his phone and wrote down the stops in both Korean and English.

The whole vibe of the place just works. It’s busy enough that there’s always something happening in the lobby, but not so crazy that you feel like you’re fighting crowds to check in. I noticed a good mix of business travelers and tourists, which usually means a hotel has figured out that sweet spot of being professional without being stuffy. The 9.5 rating makes total sense to me – I’ve stayed in places that cost twice as much and felt way less satisfied. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the elevators are really fast, which when you’re running late to meet someone or trying to catch the last subway, actually matters more than you’d think. If you’re looking for something reliable in Seoul that doesn’t feel like every other international chain hotel, this place gets it right.

Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

The place was within a 3-5 minute walk from Exit 15 of Seoul Station, and there were coffee shops and convenience stores nearby. The host was responsive and friendly. The accommodation was a fantastic place with interesting decorations and everything we needed. It was great that there was an elevator and parking available. Highly recommended!
