Seoul Garden Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Seoul Garden Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star property, but this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels authentically Korean rather than trying too hard to impress international guests. You know what I mean? It’s got these beautiful traditional touches mixed with modern comfort, and the staff greeted me with genuine warmth rather than that rehearsed hotel smile you get at chain places.
What really won me over was how the hotel feels like it belongs in Seoul – not like some generic international property that could be anywhere. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with clean lines and subtle nods to Korean aesthetics, plus they’re actually quiet, which is no small feat in this bustling city. I stayed on the seventh floor and could barely hear the street noise, even with the windows open. The bedding was seriously comfortable too – sometimes you don’t realize how much a good night’s sleep matters until you’re jet-lagged and everything just works perfectly. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has decent pressure (you’d be surprised how often hotels mess this up).
I really appreciate that this isn’t one of those places trying to be everything to everyone. The breakfast spread was solid – a good mix of Korean and Western options without being overwhelming, and the kimchi was actually properly fermented, not that tourist-friendly mild stuff. The location works well if you want to explore different neighborhoods without being stuck in the obvious tourist areas. Getting around on the subway was easy, and there’s this excellent little pojangmacha (street food stall) about two blocks away that locals frequent – definitely not a tourist trap. The hotel’s 8.2 rating feels about right to me, honestly. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what you’d want: clean, comfortable, authentically Seoul, and run by people who clearly care about their guests’ experience. I’d definitely stay here again, especially considering the value – you’re getting quality without paying those premium prices that some of the flashier hotels charge.
Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

Excellent hotel, decent size rooms, clean, close to subway and bus stops.
Foong from Malaysia (9/10)
The hotel was very clean and is situated close to the subway station. It was very convenient to move around Seoul. Mapo is a quieter area to stay, less crowded than Myeongdong, which I prefer. There are loads of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores around the hotel too
Carole from United States (9/10)
Hotel location is outside of the tourist area, so it has a calmer vibe. Close to the subway lines, and the airport limousine bus stop is literally across the street from the hotel. There is English speaking staff, and everyone was very friendly. Our room was clean and we had a nice city view from our room. There is a small convenience store near the hotel.
