Namsan Hideout
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Namsan Hideout, the name made me expect some sort of underground bunker situation. But actually walking up to this 3-star spot, it’s more like stumbling onto someone’s well-kept secret in one of Seoul‘s most interesting neighborhoods. You know that feeling when you find a place that’s not trying too hard? That’s exactly what this is.
The thing about staying near Namsan is that you’re basically planted in the heart of everything without the crazy tourist circus you get in some other parts of Seoul. I mean, sure, you’ll have your share of visitors heading up to N Seoul Tower, but there’s something genuinely local about the streets around here. The hotel itself sits in this sweet spot where you can actually walk to proper Korean barbecue joints that don’t have English menus – which, honestly, is usually where you find the good stuff. The owner seemed to know every ajumma running the nearby food stalls, and she’d casually point you toward whichever place had the best kimchi jjigae that day.
What really got me about Namsan Hideout was how they managed to feel both cozy and practical without being fancy about it. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Seoul, after all – but they’re thoughtfully laid out in a way that makes you forget you’re in a 3-star place. The walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing your neighbor’s entire phone conversation, which is honestly a minor miracle in some Korean hotels I’ve stayed at. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no overly formal bowing or complicated key card explanations, just friendly efficiency. The 7.6 rating makes total sense because while it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, it delivers exactly what it promises. You get clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff who actually seem to care about the neighborhood they’re working in, and that rare thing in busy Seoul – a sense of quiet at night. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it could be, and they’ve got this little seating area where you can plan your day with decent coffee. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra night just because leaving feels unnecessarily complicated.

Guest Reviews
The room was very cosy, had everything we needed for our stay and was larger than expected. In addition, the room's location is ideal for visiting the Namsan Tower, Myeongdong Market and Namdaemun. I'd definitely recommend it!
Location was great!
The cleanliness and abundance of water.also, the owner was so prompt in answering my queries
The location was exquisite. It was between Myeongdong station and Namsan Cable Car. There was a convenience store nearby too. The bed was adequate, not bad. The bathroom was clean.
That the owner allowed us to check in early than usual and he was very kind, helpful. Great location too.
Good location 👍
Rooms were clean. Location is awesome, 5 min walk into Myeongdong market with loads of food and drink options, and a 10-15 min walk to start of the Seoul tower trail. Owner was friendly, responsive and helpful over email and text. AC works very well. Nice outdoor area with some seating if you get any takeaway food. Overall, a good place to stay if you're visiting Seoul for a few days, and price is super cheap.
Close to the city centre
Cozy room with enough space if you're traveling with multiple bags. The owner is super friendly and helpfull, when we asked if he had an extra blanket to make the matrass a bit softer, he arranged it instantly. Also gave us many tips on what to do in South Korea!
It is worth the price because it is located in the center and there are many tourists around. Facilities are also close and easily accessible. Quite a comfortable area to rest and relax. Hot water and heater are also available this winter.
