Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SW10
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me completely off guard about Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SW10? I walked in expecting some sort of modernized traditional Korean house, but this place actually feels like someone’s beloved family home that just happens to have been perfectly restored. The wooden floors have that soft creak that tells you they’ve got real history, and honestly, I found myself walking around in socks most of the time just to feel the smooth grain under my feet.
The private bathtub situation is no joke – and I mean this in the best possible way. It’s this gorgeous deep soaking tub that sits in what feels like its own little sanctuary within the hanok. I spent way too much time in there on my second night, watching the light change through the traditional paper windows while the water stayed perfectly hot. The whole bathing experience reminded me why Korean spa culture is such a big deal. You’ll want to stock up on bath salts or whatever your relaxation ritual requires because you’re going to be tempted to soak for hours. The privacy aspect is really well thought out too – there’s this sense of being completely secluded even though you’re not isolated from the beautiful architecture around you.
What I really appreciated (and this might sound weird) was how quiet everything gets in the evening. Korean traditional buildings have this way of settling that’s different from regular hotels – the wood seems to breathe, and there’s something almost meditative about it. The heating system works incredibly well, which matters more than you might think if you’re visiting during cooler months. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night because leaving felt like abandoning this peaceful little world I’d stumbled into. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but everything that matters is executed beautifully. With a 9 rating from other guests, I’m clearly not the only one who got completely charmed by this place. Fair warning though – once you experience sleeping in a proper hanok with your own private soaking tub, regular hotel bathrooms are going to feel pretty disappointing for a while.
