Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SN11
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SN11, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, but once you step inside this traditional Korean house, you completely get why they lead with “luxury.” This isn’t your typical tourist hanok experience where you’re sleeping on thin mats wondering if your back will ever recover. We’re talking about a beautifully restored traditional home that somehow manages to honor its heritage while actually being comfortable for modern travelers.
The whole place has this incredible sense of authenticity – you know how some “traditional” accommodations feel like theme park versions? This isn’t that. The wooden floors creak in just the right way (not annoyingly, more like reassuringly), and there’s this subtle scent of cedar and traditional hanji paper that hits you the moment you walk in. But here’s the thing that really sets it apart: that private bathtub they mention in the name? It’s not just some afterthought addition. They’ve integrated it so thoughtfully into the space that it feels like Korean royalty might have bathed this way centuries ago, even though – let’s be real – they probably didn’t have plumbing quite this nice back then.
What I actually loved most was how quiet everything gets in the evening. You’re tucked away from the main tourist circuits, so you get these peaceful moments where you can just soak (literally, if you’re using that tub) in the whole experience. The ondol heating system keeps everything perfectly warm without that dry, artificial feel you get from regular hotel heating. I mean, waking up on those heated floors in winter? Pure magic. The courtyard space gives you room to breathe too – there’s something about having that outdoor connection that makes the whole stay feel more grounded. Fair warning though: if you’re someone who needs everything to be perfectly level and straight-lined, traditional Korean architecture might mess with your head a bit. The slightly uneven surfaces and organic curves are part of the charm, but I watched one guest spend way too much energy being bothered by it. Also, while the 9.2 rating definitely reflects the unique experience and attention to detail, don’t expect hotel-style room service or a concierge desk – this is more about disconnecting and experiencing something genuinely different. The check-in process is smooth enough, but you’ll want to coordinate timing in advance since it’s not like a big hotel with staff around the clock.

It was surprising to have this hanok so compact but still with all amenities required for a comfortable stay.
- very good explanation of following steps (how to reach, sharing of door code, etc.)
- clean, nice arrangement of stuff
- easy to reach from subway station
- cozy corner with outside bathtube
- good bed and pillows
- sufficient cutlery, pots and equipment to have meals in the Hanok
Everything
It’s a beautiful property, comfortably appointed, in a great location in Bukchon. The neighborhood is very cute and accessible to a lot of great food and sights.
Self check-in facile.
