About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

You know what really caught me off guard about Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SN09? The moment I stepped through that traditional wooden gate, I felt like I’d been transported back a couple centuries – but with all the modern comforts I’m honestly too spoiled to live without. This place gets a perfect 10 rating, and after spending three nights there, I totally get why.

The hanok itself is this beautifully restored traditional Korean house that somehow manages to feel both authentic and luxurious at the same time. The wooden beams have that aged patina that you just can’t fake, and the ondol heating system keeps the floors perfectly warm (which is amazing when you’re padding around in socks). But here’s the real kicker – that private bathtub is absolutely divine. It’s this gorgeous wooden soaking tub that looks out onto the inner courtyard, and I mean, there’s something almost meditative about soaking in there after a long day of exploring. The water stays hot forever too, which is more than I can say for most hotel bathtubs I’ve encountered.

What I love most is how quiet it gets at night. You’re still connected to everything you need, but once the sun goes down, it’s just you and the gentle sounds of the neighborhood settling in. The courtyard garden is meticulously maintained – someone clearly knows their way around traditional Korean landscaping – and there’s this lovely stone pathway that connects the different sections of the house. Actually, the whole layout flows really naturally, which isn’t always the case with these historical properties that have been converted. The bedroom has this incredible traditional Korean bedding setup, but they’ve added a proper mattress underneath, so you get the cultural experience without sacrificing your back (learned that lesson the hard way at another place). Check-in was refreshingly personal too – the host actually walked me through all the traditional elements and gave me some great local recommendations that weren’t just the usual tourist spots. Honestly, staying here felt less like a hotel experience and more like being welcomed into someone’s beautifully curated home.

This place was perfect. The apartment itself was very comfortable and beautiful. The location was great, the neighborhood is really nice with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants close by, and a relatively short walk to take the bus. We didn’t meet anyone for check-in and check-out and yet the staff was very helpful - we requested an iron and a few minutes later they had left one by the door, and they also helped us schedule a taxi to the airport hours after we had checked out. Greatly recommended.
