LOTTE City Hotel Guro
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about LOTTE City Hotel Guro? I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in this part of Seoul, but this hotel actually gets it right in ways that matter. Seoul’s Guro district isn’t exactly where most tourists end up – it’s more of a business hub with all those digital complexes and office towers – but that’s precisely what makes staying here interesting. The area has this authentic, working Seoul vibe that you just don’t get in the tourist zones, and the hotel feels like it belongs here rather than trying to be something it’s not.
The lobby has that clean, understated LOTTE aesthetic (you’ll recognize it if you’ve been to their department stores), but it doesn’t feel corporate or cold. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – the staff actually seemed to care about getting you sorted quickly, which I mean, when you’re dealing with jet lag or a long day of meetings, that attention to detail matters more than fancy marble floors. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully compact – not cramped, just efficiently designed in that way Korean hotels do so well. Everything you need is there, the bed is genuinely comfortable, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than some 5-star places I’ve stayed at. The soundproofing is solid too, which is crucial because Guro can get pretty busy during rush hours with all the commuter traffic.
What really won me over, though, is how the hotel connects you to the real rhythm of the city. You’re walking distance from Guro Digital Complex Station – and I mean actually walking distance, not that “10-minute walk” that turns into 20 – so getting anywhere in Seoul is pretty straightforward. But more importantly, you’re surrounded by all these local restaurants and late-night spots that office workers frequent. There’s this incredible jjigae place just around the corner that I never would have found if I’d been staying in Myeongdong or Gangnam. The hotel staff seemed genuinely happy to point out these neighborhood gems, which tells you something about the kind of place this is. That 8.7 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a luxury destination hotel – it’s designed for people who want a reliable, comfortable base while they actually experience Seoul. Whether you’re here for business or just want to see a different side of the city, LOTTE City Hotel Guro delivers exactly what it promises, just with a bit more personality than you might expect.

Guest Reviews
The hotel is located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The airport bus stops directly in front of the hotel.
The hotel room itself is bright thanks to big windows and has a good size and layout. The bed comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful; especially the cleaning and room service staff - they are super attentive.
Great Room facilities, ideal location when utilising Metro, courteous front-of-house staff.
Excellent laundry facilities came in handy.

Well laid out
There are many restaurants near by and close to the metro station. The gym is spacious.
Clean, well-kept rooms, nice and helpful staff, close to metro station no. 2 - great
Amazing customer service from when we stepped on to the property. We were allowed to check in early and the room was pristine. Very friendly staff and well kept hotel. Close to the line 2 and has a bus stop to the airport right out front.
Everything. Everything was very good and comfortable
There is a airport bus station just right in front of the hotel. It takes 1 hr 40 mins to go to T2. Very nice.
The location is not at any of the shopping centers in the city. However, metro to Hongdae or Seoul station is easy. I mainly used the "GURO digital complex station" for the metro. The road from metro to the hotel is little but hilly but not too bad.
The bedroom is clean. The shampoo, handwash and lotion are very well-scented.
Easy check in and out. Nice clean room with a HUGE TV (with Netflix that you can sign in with your own account). Staff contacted me quickly about about my charger which l had left in the room after checkout.
