JW Marriott Hotel Seoul
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, I wasn’t expecting to be blown away since, you know, I’ve stayed at plenty of five-star chains before. But there’s something about this place that just gets the details right in a way that actually matters. The lobby has this sophisticated minimalist vibe that feels authentically Korean rather than like generic luxury hotel #47, and the staff – well, they seem to genuinely want to help rather than just going through the motions.
What really struck me was how they’ve managed to feel both international and distinctly Seoul at the same time. The rooms are spacious by Seoul standards (and trust me, that’s saying something in this city), with these massive windows that give you proper city views if you’re lucky enough to snag the right floor. The beds are legitimately comfortable – I mean the kind where you actually sleep well despite jet lag, not just acceptable hotel sleep. The bathrooms are pretty impressive too, with those deep soaking tubs that you’ll actually want to use after spending a day walking around the city’s hills. I stayed during cherry blossom season and honestly, the crowds in the surrounding area were intense, but coming back to the hotel felt like stepping into this calm bubble away from all the tourist chaos.
The thing that sets this place apart though is how well-connected it feels to the real Seoul. You’re not stuck in some hotel district where everything feels artificial – you can actually walk to decent local restaurants and shops without having to take a taxi everywhere. The concierge team knows their stuff too, giving recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. I asked about late-night food options and got directions to this incredible street food area that I never would have found on my own. The fitness center is solid (24-hour access, which saved me with the time zone situation), and the pool area is surprisingly peaceful even when the hotel’s busy. Check-in was smooth – no weird delays or attitude – and they stored my luggage without any fuss when I arrived early. With an 8.7 rating, you’re getting what you pay for here, which in Seoul’s competitive hotel scene means they’re doing something right. It’s the kind of place where the little things work properly, from the WiFi actually being fast to the air conditioning being quiet enough that you can sleep.
Hotels in Seoul offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this metropolitan hub, with easy access to world-class shopping, traditional markets, and vibrant nightlife districts.

Guest Reviews
very clean and perfect location for us
Clean, beds were very comfortable, great friendly staff, and very close to subway lines.
The hotel is ideally located right at the express bus terminal, surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Additionally, it is conveniently connected to the Shinsegae Department Store, offering even more dining & shopping options. The location truly stands out for its excellent food choices and for good transportation connections. Furthermore, the gym is among the best I have ever experienced.
Very good stuff
Located above Express Bus terminal station, it's incredibly convenient for dining and shopping, and it's also in a great area for a stroll along the Han River, making the location perfect. Breakfast options are varied downstairs at the department store and the terminal, so we didn't choose 80,000 won breakfast at the hotel. The service at the lobby, concierge, and bell desk within the hotel was good. I brought my elderly mother, and they accommodated our request for a late checkout as much as possible. Pool is great with sauna access, but we didn't use the spa since it costs 40,000 won. Oh, but their bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was spacious.
Everything, it's an epitome of home away from home. Exceptional Korean hospitality at its best
Superb service! Great location! Beautiful hotel.
We like our room! The bed was cloud like soft, clean, and a very nice feeling. The staff were amazing from check-in to restaurants. Our room had lounge access and the lounge was a great space for a quick bite or drink. Both afternoon and breakfast were great! I didn't get to the pool but I did use the gym at night and it was the biggest hotel gym I've been to. It had every equipment you may need during your stay. The hotel is located next to Shinsegae and a bus terminal. There is a lot of food options and a food market downstairs. I'd definitely stay here again.
Surprisingly spacious for a standard twin room and a bathroom with a bath tub and shower. Comfy beds too. Fab breakfast - such a shame we couldn't eat much as it was 6.30am before leaving for the airport. On the whole, it was a relaxing and comfortable stay.
Everything. The facilities, the staff, the breakfast, were all incredible.
