The Yangcheon-gu area might not be the first district tourists think of, but that’s actually what makes it perfect. You’re close enough to everything that matters — I could get to Hongdae in about 20 minutes by subway, and Myeongdong was maybe 30 minutes away. What I loved was having real Seoul life right outside the door. There’s a fantastic local market just a few blocks away where I grabbed the best kimchi jjigae for breakfast (way better than any hotel restaurant, honestly). The subway station is a short walk, and once you figure out the route, getting anywhere becomes pretty straightforward.

The Room Experience

My room was small but thoughtfully designed — every inch served a purpose without feeling cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I mean that as someone who usually struggles with Korean mattresses being too firm. The bathroom was spotless with one of those rainfall showers that actually had decent water pressure. What really impressed me was the attention to detail: good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets near the bed, and blackout curtains that actually blocked out the city lights. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Seoul’s humid summers.

Daily Life & Amenities

Breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a small kitchenette area where you can prepare simple meals if you want. I actually preferred this setup — it gave me the freedom to explore local food markets and try cooking with ingredients I’d never seen before. The common areas are well-maintained and there’s reliable WiFi throughout the building. Parking is available if you’re brave enough to drive in Seoul (I wasn’t), and they have laundry facilities that came in handy during my longer stay. The front desk staff speaks decent English and they’re genuinely helpful with directions and recommendations.

This place gets a 9.4 location rating for good reason — it strikes that perfect balance between being accessible and authentically local. Couples especially seem to appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the chance to experience Seoul like actual residents rather than tourists.   I appreciated having space; peace and quiet; amenities you don't get in a hotel (washing machine, stove, full refrigerator, windows that open for fresh air); and a more authentic living experience than you would get in a hotel. The owners were quick to reply when I had questions. We absolutely loved the nearby park and found several close coffee shops we liked. We were a short distance to a bus stop and subway and had several convenience stores within 5 minutes. We also enjoyed shopping at the local street vendors/market. We would happily stay there again!

  Appartamento molto accogliente, arredato con gusto nei minimi dettagli. Molto apprezzato il purificatore d’aria Samsung che mantiene l’aria sempre pulita e profumata: sarà la prima cosa che vorrò comprare anche a casa mia. Il quartiere è ottimale: silenzioso la sera ed a due passi dalla linea 9 della metropolitana e degli autobus con cui vai praticamente dappertutto.

  De ligging is vlak bij een metrostation en dicht bij het appartement is een prachtig park waar je kunt wandelen. Voor eten hoef je niet ver te lopen er zijn genoeg eettentjes in de omgeving. De gastvrouw van het appartement geeft hele duidelijke instructies hoe je er met de metro moet komen. Het appartement zelf is knus en heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. Dichtbij een GS24 winkel die altijd open is.
