From there, you’re two stops to Myeongdong, four to Hongik University, and the whole city opens up. But honestly, you might not want to venture too far because this area is incredible for wandering. Insadong is right there with all its tea houses and galleries, and if you head up toward Changdeokgung Palace, you’ll hit some of the most Instagram-worthy hanok villages in the city. The morning light hitting those traditional roofs – it’s something else.

I should mention that the streets here are narrow and can get busy with tour groups during peak hours (usually 10 AM to 3 PM), but early mornings and evenings are pure magic. There’s this little convenience store about two minutes away that becomes your best friend, and several traditional restaurants within walking distance where locals actually eat.
