I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Hotel Skypark Myeongdong 1, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in such a touristy area. But you know what? This little hotel actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby’s got this clean, modern vibe that feels way more upscale than the star rating suggests, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to help rather than just going through the motions.

What really won me over was the location – and I mean the real location benefits, not just the usual “convenient” nonsense. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Myeongdong Station, which honestly saves you so much hassle when you’re dragging luggage around Seoul. More importantly though, you’re right in the thick of the shopping madness, but here’s the thing – the hotel sits just far enough off the main drag that you don’t get the constant street noise that plagues some of the other places I’ve stayed in the area. I actually slept pretty well, which is saying something because I’m usually a light sleeper in busy cities. The rooms are compact (this is Seoul, after all), but they’re smartly designed with decent storage and surprisingly good water pressure in the shower. I mean, the bathroom’s tiny, but everything works properly and stays clean. The 7.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers on what matters most when you’re spending your days exploring the city. Check-in was smooth, they had decent English, and honestly, for the price point in this neighborhood, you’re getting solid value. If you’re the type who just needs a clean, comfortable base to crash between adventures in Myeongdong’s shopping streets and nearby Namsan Tower, this place hits the sweet spot.

  The location was good, very close to the subway and in amongst the shops in Myeongdong. All of the staff were really lovely and they let us keep our bags in the lobby after we checked out. We also liked that there was a coin laundry on the 10th floor, it was 5000 won each for washing and drying.
