But the thing is, you’re not really going to be hanging out in your room when you’re literally steps away from some of the best Korean BBQ and street food in the city.

The location is really what makes this place shine – I could stumble back from late-night karaoke sessions in about five minutes, and those little convenience stores where you can grab everything from face masks to instant ramen are right around the corner. During my stay, I noticed the hotel fills up with a mix of solo travelers and young couples, mostly people who clearly did their research and wanted to be in the heart of things without paying luxury prices. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me because it’s solid and reliable, though not fancy. I mean, don’t expect a spa or rooftop bar, but the basics are all covered well. One thing I appreciated was how the front desk staff could actually give you directions to places beyond the obvious tourist spots – they pointed me toward this incredible jjigae place down a side alley that I never would have found otherwise. If you’re someone who wants to experience Seoul rather than just see it, and you don’t need a bunch of hotel amenities you probably won’t use anyway, Hotel Doma Myeongdong hits that sweet spot of location, value, and authentic Korean hospitality.

  Very good location right next to a subway entrance.

  Excellent location from metro and bus stop access stand point. Hotel staff were helpful and polite. Especially for an Indian who prefers having Indian food; the hotel is located nearby excellent 👌 Indian restaurant name Namaste. 7 eleven stores are all located within 2 mins walks. Klook pick up locations are very near by as well.
