Hotel Cullinan jongno Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked into Hotel Cullinan Jongno, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in this part of Seoul. But you know what? Sometimes those lower expectations work in your favor because this little spot actually surprised me in ways that matter when you’re dragging a suitcase around Seoul after a 14-hour flight.
The thing about staying in Jongno is that you’re right in the thick of everything that makes Seoul feel alive, and this hotel gets that without trying too hard to be something it’s not. I mean, step outside and you’re literally walking distance from Insadong’s maze of tea houses and art galleries – though honestly, I spent way too much money on ceramics there, but that’s another story. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many hotel workers just point you toward the nearest Starbucks. When I asked about finding decent Korean BBQ that wasn’t a tourist trap, the front desk guy drew me a little map to this place three blocks away where I was the only foreigner – exactly what I was hoping for.
The rooms are clean and functional, though don’t expect Instagram-worthy luxury. What I appreciated was that everything worked properly – the air conditioning actually cooled the room down, the shower had decent water pressure, and the WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed. The beds are on the firmer side (very Korean style), which took me a night to adjust to, but I actually slept better than I expected. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator – it’s pretty slow and gets crowded during check-in rushes, so if you’re on the 8th floor like I was, just factor in a few extra minutes. The breakfast is pretty standard continental fare, nothing spectacular, but there’s a convenience store right next door where you can grab proper Korean snacks and drinks for way cheaper than hotel prices. Actually, that whole block is perfect for late-night munchies – there’s a 24-hour kimbap place that became my go-to after long days of wandering around Myeongdong and Dongdaemun. The location really is the hotel’s strongest selling point because you can easily walk to multiple subway lines, which opens up the entire city without needing to figure out bus routes or expensive taxi rides.

Reviews of Hotel Cullinan jongno
Thi from Vietnam (8/10)
The best thing is staff attitude. All of them are very friendly, feeling that they are not really good at English, but they tried to communicate English with me. The facility is okay, but not new. The location is great, just go outside and at night, it was very crowded by many pocha. You can get subway just few walks away.
