Hotel Atrium Jongno Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Hotel Atrium Jongno, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in this part of Seoul. But you know what? This little hotel totally surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. The lobby has this warm, understated vibe that immediately puts you at ease after navigating the bustling streets of Jongno. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it – no marble everywhere or overly formal staff trying to impress you, just solid comfort that actually works.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth (they speak decent English, which helps), and honestly, they went out of their way to explain the neighborhood without me even asking. The rooms are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect for the price range, but they’re clean and thoughtfully laid out. I actually slept really well here – the beds are surprisingly comfortable, and the air conditioning works properly, which isn’t always a given. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with good water pressure that I definitely appreciated after long days of walking around the city. One small thing that stuck with me: they provide these nice little slippers that are way better quality than most places bother with.

The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re right in the heart of Jongno, which means you can walk to Insadong in about ten minutes, and the whole Myeongdong shopping area is easily accessible. I loved being able to duck out for late-night Korean fried chicken or grab coffee from one of the tiny local spots nearby without having to figure out subway routes. The street food scene around here is incredible – there’s this little pojangmacha (street food tent) just two blocks away that serves the most amazing tteokbokki, and I probably went there three times during my four-day stay. The hotel sits on a relatively quiet side street, so you get that authentic Seoul neighborhood feel without the constant traffic noise that can drive you crazy in other parts of the city. I mean, it’s still Seoul, so there’s always some hustle and bustle, but it’s manageable. The 7.9 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. For the price point and the genuine hospitality, I’d definitely stay here again.

  • Gisun from Russia (7/10)

The place was very nice. Jongno 5-ga Station was close, Gwangjang Market was close, and the area was nearby.
    There are also two Starbucks.

It was very attractive to see Namsan Tower as soon as I left the hotel.

  • Michael from Thailand (7/10)

The room is comfortable, has a nice bed a Japanese style toilet and a bath too. The staff are friendly, speak perfect English and helped me with any question I had.

The hotel is in a quiet, peaceful area of the city with not much traffic or pedestrians. It is very convenient for the famous street food market Kwangjang Market which is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Also nearby is the Jongmyo Shrine which is a 5 minute walk away too. It is also not far away from the Gyeongbokgung Palace, but I'd recommend a taxi or subway train as it's quite far to walk.

There is a Starbucks right next to the hotel too, in fact Seoul has hundreds of coffee shops, so you'll never be looking for a coffee shop! There is also a GS25 convenience store about 2 minutes walk from the hotelans a 7/11 a little further up if you need any supplies too.

It also has the Jongno 5-ga subway station very close to it too so you can easily reach any part of the city. I'd recommend you use a T-Money transport card to save you buying a single journey ticket every time.

You can get a taxi to or from Seoul Station which is about 10 minutes away if you want to travel outside of Seoul or to/from both Incheon and Gimpo Airport.
