Hongdae Zoe Three Room House
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking up to Hongdae Zoe Three Room House, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical hotel experience — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star guesthouse sits right in the heart of one of Seoul‘s most vibrant neighborhoods, and I mean right in the thick of things. The building itself is unassuming, but once you’re inside, you realize the owners have put real thought into creating something that feels more like staying at a friend’s well-designed apartment than a sterile hotel room.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this place? It’s positioned perfectly on Sinchon-ro 3ga-gil, which puts you within walking distance of both Hongdae’s legendary nightlife and the quieter, more residential feel of Sinchon. I spent evenings wandering between the indie music venues and street food stalls that Hongdae is famous for, then retreated back to this surprisingly peaceful spot. The subway connections are solid too — Hongik University Station is just a few minutes away, so getting around Seoul is actually pretty effortless from here.
The Space
The three-room setup is what really sets this guesthouse apart from typical accommodations in the area. Each space has its own character, but they all share this clean, minimalist aesthetic that feels distinctly Korean without being overly themed. The common areas encourage interaction with other travelers, which I found refreshing after staying in more isolated hotel rooms elsewhere in the city. There’s a shared kitchen that’s actually functional — not just for show — and I watched guests from different countries bond over late-night ramen sessions.
What Makes It Work
The staff here genuinely seem to care about your experience, offering local recommendations that go beyond the usual tourist spots. They pointed me toward a tiny restaurant around the corner that served some of the best kimchi jjigae I had in Seoul — the kind of place I never would have found on my own. The building stays surprisingly quiet despite being in such a lively area, and the parking situation is sorted if you’re brave enough to drive in Seoul (though honestly, you won’t need to).
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most is how this place manages to capture the energy of Hongdae while giving you a genuine retreat from it. The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense when you experience the balance they’ve struck here. Couples particularly seem drawn to the intimate atmosphere — it’s romantic without being stuffy, urban without being overwhelming. You’re staying in one of Seoul’s most dynamic neighborhoods, but you’re doing it in a way that feels authentic rather than touristy. For the price point and location, Hongdae Zoe Three Room House delivers something that’s becoming increasingly rare: a place that actually enhances your travel experience rather than just providing a bed for the night.
To book a hotel in Seoul during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this dynamic capital draws visitors eager to experience its cutting-edge technology and rich traditional heritage.

Guest Reviews
It’s relatively near the train station and plenty of food options around so it’s super convenient. The house is clean and cosy and the host Mia was super helpful with the check in process and even helped us book taxis to Incheon airport!
