The subway connections are solid; I could get to Gangnam in about 20 minutes and Hongdae in roughly the same time. What I loved most was walking around the neighborhood in the evenings — it’s residential and peaceful, but you’re never more than a few minutes from convenience stores, late-night eateries, and local bars.

The Neighborhood Vibe

This area doesn’t get much attention in guidebooks, but that’s actually a good thing. During my stay, I discovered some incredible local restaurant spots that I never would have found in touristy districts. There’s a fantastic Korean BBQ place just two blocks away that locals frequent, and the prices are about half what you’d pay in Myeongdong. The morning walks were particularly nice — you get to see how regular Seoul residents live, with small gardens, local markets, and that authentic neighborhood energy that’s hard to find in central areas.

I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something intimate and peaceful about staying here that you just don’t get in bigger, more commercial areas.
