The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury, it’s the kind of place where everything just… works. Staff speaks enough English to help you out, check-in was smooth, and they’ve got that Korean hospitality thing down where they’re genuinely helpful without being pushy. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway and just need a solid base camp in Gangnam, this spot delivers without the premium price tag that usually comes with this neighborhood.
