You know what really caught me off guard about Emotional? The name actually makes perfect sense once you step inside. I mean, most hotels with quirky names are just trying too hard, but this 4-star place genuinely evokes something – I’m not even sure what to call it, honestly. It’s like they took three completely different interior design philosophies and somehow made them work together without it feeling like a museum or one of those over-the-top boutique places that forget people actually need to sleep there.

The moment you walk through the lobby, you’ll notice how they’ve layered these different design elements – there’s this industrial-chic section with exposed brick and metal fixtures that flows into what I’d call Scandinavian minimalism, all clean lines and warm woods. Then just when you think you’ve figured out their aesthetic, boom – you turn a corner and there’s this almost bohemian lounge area with rich textiles and vintage pieces that should clash but actually tie everything together. The lighting changes throughout the day too, which sounds gimmicky but it actually works. During check-in around sunset, these warm amber tones kicked in that made the whole space feel like someone’s incredibly stylish (and expensive) living room.

What I really appreciated was how they managed to keep it functional while being so design-forward. The rooms follow the same three-style concept but in a more subtle way – you’re not getting sensory overload when you’re trying to unwind. My room had this gorgeous reclaimed wood headboard paired with these sleek modern fixtures, and honestly, the bed was exactly what you want after a long day of exploring. The bathrooms deserve a mention too – they went with this industrial tile work but softened it with plants and textured towels that felt more like what you’d find at a spa. Staff seemed genuinely proud of the place, which always tells you something. They were quick with recommendations and actually knew the neighborhood well enough to steer me toward spots I wouldn’t have found otherwise. The whole experience felt intentional, if that makes sense – like someone really thought about how design affects mood and ran with it. It’s definitely Instagram-worthy, but more importantly, it’s somewhere you’d actually want to stay again.
