About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

You know what caught me off guard about Brand new 2 rooms, 6 guests #Daerim Cozy Jia#? The name sounds a bit quirky with all those hashtags, but honestly, it delivers exactly what it promises – and then some. I stumbled across this place during one of my Seoul trips when I needed something that could handle my extended family visit, and I’m actually glad the bigger hotels were booked up that weekend.

The space feels like someone’s stylish apartment that they’ve opened up to travelers, which I mean, might literally be the case here. Those two rooms are thoughtfully laid out – not cramped like some places try to squeeze six people into shoebox-sized spaces. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and there’s this cozy living area where we ended up hanging out way more than expected. The kitchen setup is pretty decent too, which saved us a fortune since eating out for six people in Seoul adds up fast. What I really appreciated was how clean everything felt – you can tell it’s actually “brand new” like the name says, not just marketing speak.

The neighborhood vibe is what really won me over though. Daerim isn’t your typical tourist zone, and that’s honestly refreshing. You’re surrounded by actual Seoul life – local markets, family-run restaurants where the ajumma remembers your order, and streets that aren’t packed with tour groups. There’s this fantastic Korean-Chinese fusion spot about two blocks away that locals line up for, and a convenience store right downstairs that became our best friend for late-night snacks. The subway connection is solid without being right on top of the tracks (trust me, you don’t want that noise), and getting to the main tourist areas takes maybe 20-30 minutes depending on where you’re headed. Parking was easier than I expected if you’re brave enough to drive in Seoul traffic. The only minor thing – and I’m being nitpicky here – is that the walls aren’t super thick, so you might hear your neighbors occasionally, but nothing that ruined our sleep. Overall, this place nails that sweet spot between having your own space and experiencing real Seoul neighborhood life, plus the price point makes it a no-brainer if you’re traveling with a group.
